Well, it's pretty cool... But I did just buy it last night on clearance at Kohls for $14.99. No Joke.

Good price compared to Amazon...plus I'll be able to use the cardboard box used for shipping as my breakdancing pad!

Cheapest woot has had this product. Bought it previously refurbished on Amazon for about $45 but sent it back. Nothing wrong with the product just decided DJing wasn't for me. The biggest complaint about this product is the lack of audio port which is necessary for queuing the next song without everyone else hearing. The thing people like most about it is usually the sensitivity and accuracy of the turntables, especially given the cheap price of the product. It comes with it's own DJ software which is decent and is also compatible with most DJ software including Virtual DJ.

Is this compatible with Justin Bieber songs?

@fountain3586 & @thunderthighs: I saw it at my Kohls store today on clearance for $29.99 I think. I don't know if it was the same model or not, but I swear it's been on the same clearance rack for the past 2 months...

Absolutely not... and my location at 72nd and Dodge in Omaha, Nebraska had 2 of them... Wish I'd bought the other one.

Here, I took a picture. http://photo2.walgreens.com/walgreens/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=13721122002/a=5481343002_5481343002/otsc=SHR/otsi=SALBlink/COBRAND_NAME=walgreens/

@djanlp: It's interesting that I found it last night because the night before I had just downloaded my very first DJ Software program. I want to make my own Country Mix sooo bad.

@thunderthighs: IT happens TOO MUCH! I need a 2nd house and a really good therapist for my good finds. Or Hynotherapy.. Ever heard of hypnotherapy for a shopping problem?

vote-for4vote-against

@thunderthighs & @fountain3586: I didn't buy it though. The Kohls I went to also still has Halloween stuff on one of their clearance racks...

A hoverboard! Yes! Finally; in for 3! Wait, shoot, cancel that order, it's something else.

@lpsession: Are you sure you cannot cue the next song without everyone hearing it? I ask because the description says a USB adapter is required for headphones and there is a Cue button. These indicate to me there are audio out and cuing capabilities.

Not being able to cue up the next song to the specific spot you want it to start to mix with the other track playing is a deal breaker for me.

@joshthegeek: Yes it's possible to do but you would need an additional sound card to run the headphones through on the computer to separate the feed.

Something like this would work fine, you don't need the best sound quality on the headphone feed but it does need to be separate so that the audience doesn't hear it.

Anyone know how it compares to the Numark DJ2Go? They look like similar units, but I'm a bit green so it's hard for me to tell the difference. (The Numark name is a bit more familiar to me, though...)

This is a killer deal. I'm kinda into this stuff and this is a toy, but it works like the real deal. I have a $250 Hercules midi controller and it does not have touch sensitive platters like this one. This allows you to simulate "stopping the record" by just placing your hand on the platter. Very cool feature. I use a $100 professional USB sound card with mine that has 2 stereo outputs, one main, one for cue. This is normal unless you have one with a 4 channel sound car built in. There are 2 solutions here because I don't expect you guys to buy an expensive soundcard. One is to buy a cheap $3 USB sound card from ebay for cueing, or better than that, most computers today have surround sound audio cards which mean they have at least 4 channels. In most DJ and music production software, you can assign which audio goes where quite easily. You just route the cue output to channel 3 and 4 (the surround channels), and plug your headphones into that.

Don't try to be a paulie d. Don't waste your money on this junk unless you have an extra $40 bucks to throw away.

Bought this the last time it was up here for $44 shipped- and although it's my first controller, I have been DJ'ing for over 17 years. I've used various DJ software before (Traktor, Virtual DJ, Atomix Pro, and most recently, Mixxx) and biggest hurdle is being able to mix live/real time using a mouse and keyboard. It can be done, but it's not very intuitive, slower to operate then a real deck and doesn't "feel" like mixing.

I hooked this up to Mixxx running on Ubuntu Studio x64 to try it out and I gotta say that it feels great for $40! It operates and feels just like a real deck should and the fader is smooth and precise. I didn't have long to play with it, so I didn't really explore it that much. I'm also not well versed in scratching, so I found that function to be "nice to have" and it seemed about as responsive as vinyl on a Technics SL-1200 (not that I have much experience with that either).

Did some research before I bought- just about the best controller for the price.

How bad will this annoy my parents if I hide it in the toy box that they have for the grandkids?

Thanks Fountain3586! Just picked up the other one. I'll post a pic when I get home!

I saw this one today at Bed Bath and Beyond for $14.99. I think it's following me...

@fountain3586: Walgreens makes you sign up for an account and log in before you can view people's photos :(

I'd recommend uploading to an image hosting service for link posting

@thehead71: No mixers are compatible with Justin Bieber's noise. They will, in fact, shock you to near death if ever forced to play that drivel! :)

vote-for1vote-against

@corrosivesubtance that is not true. I was able to view @fountain3586 's photos without logging in or any problems.

My local Kohl's did not have this. They said they had it for the Holiday season and then had all remaining units recalled by corporate.

vote-for1vote-against

Blast. I wasted my time checking my local Kohls and now the deal is dead. I should have just bought it but oh well, I'm sure it will be back on woot soon :P

vote-for1vote-against

Checked my local Kohl's today, they have about 8 let in stock for $14.99. Regularly 149.99. Unbelievable.
