This is the best price i've seen on this combo pack anywhere in the past year (i've been looking). I finally broke down and bought this same kit/pack 20 days ago from newegg for $64.95 (the best price, including shipping i had previously found)...So, this is a really great price on this bundle.. Only negative is that this pack has the angry birds type controller, and not the newer one with the headphone jack and 4 memory buttons.

@huntdouglas: that would be the Roku 3...which are more expensive than this...

@webgenie: The Roku 3 doesn't have 4 memory buttons. The Roku 2 does and has the headphone jack.

Interesting. Roku's site used to list the different models such0 as LT, XD, XS. It now lists them as LT, Roku 1, 2, and 3. Then there's the roku stick. The Roku 2 on the Roku site has a remote with headphone jack but is not a motion controller for angry birds. In other words the old naming convention of Roku 2XS doesn't seem to apply anymore. I own a Roku 2 XS and it came with one motion controller that does not have a headphone jack.

What are these things actually FOR?

Roku went to a new naming convention. The Roku 2 XS has been replaced with the newer Roku 3 while the Roku 2 XD is now the updated Roku 2, which has the headphone jack remote and shortcut buttons. the Roku 2 HD is now the Roku 1 and the Roku LT has stayed the same with a new design. The Rouk 2, 2XD, 2XS and 3 all use RF and Bluetooth connectivity for the remotes, so mounting behind a TV is fine. The Roku 2 does not show "Motion Control" with the remote, though the older 2 XS and 2 XD will support the motion control, and the 2XS actually comes with Angry Birds. I have the orginal Roku 1st generation device N-1000 still in use in my house. I also have (2) Roku 2XS devices, (1) Roku 2XD device, and a Roku 3. Now, I will say, the Roku 3 is by far my favorite, but the others are nice. I did pick this deal up today, since the Enhanced remote for the 2 XD / XS is $26 at Roku's website to replace and I have a broken one. Needless to say, WELL worth every penny for a ROKU!

@kmashaney: These things allow you to access online tv and movies such as Netflix, crackle and Amazon Prime through any tv. The Roku is extremely easy to set up and has a smooth and friendly user interface. Most of these functions are available from connected/smart tv, Blu-ray players and game systems, but speaking from experience with only the xbox 360, the Roku is a leap ahead as a media player. The Roku will also access recordings from a simple.tv (over the air) recorder and other personal video/media applications like Plex.

@insomnix: thanks for answering my question about the remotes. I've lost the IR remote for my old n1100, the roku android app uses wifi and can be a bit laggy especially when the phone is asleep. I was hoping for a replacement, but I am still getting this deal.

Woot! today is offering this same bundle sans hdmi cable for $60 BUT IT IS NEW IN RETAIL BOX. I bought this item yesterday at NewEgg at this price but would rather have paid for a NEW item. The Woot is a Sellout! offer for Tuesday, Dec 3

This deal appears to be back up to $59.95, which it has been at for most of the Black Friday weekend. I am a Newegg deal flyer member and the e-mail click through is the $59.95.
