Why is this a deal?
@bjfranck: Not sure it's the standard MSRP of the product.
@figgers3036 That's for the 10.1 version. Here's the CNet review for the linked tablet:

It's also $249 on Amazon... no tax or shipping with Prime or SuperSaver.
This is a deal...if you enjoy saving $.99.
The retail price for this tab is $249.99 everywhere.
But, with that aside...this is a freaking awesome tablet. I bought mine like 3 weeks ago and I've not been able to put it down since. I love it.
Just the right size.
Costco had these in their store yesterday for $239 which is the cheapest I have seen in a store (EBAY -- Mac Mall had them for $229 one day last week) but on the Costco web site they are $249 which surprised me..
IIRC the Costco tablet for $239 comes with a slip case thing.
One nice feature is that it is also a remote for Samsung TV's.
@neilw: I've noticed the pricing difference via the Costco website and in store. I think that's how they get away with free shipping. By selling the online price at stock. Just taking a guess.
@autocrosser: Amazon (and Woot) do charge sales tax in certain states, including NY. They are currently in a legal challenge with several other states over the same issue.
Take advantage of your tax-free status and purchase now, before it's too late!
@bione Exactly the reason why Amazon has kept extremely close tabs on its dealings within California. In SoCal, things ship from AZ, and NV. They are smart to keep from getting taxes charged to CA residents as I bet the get a ton of business from California.
Although this is only $1 off of retail, it is still a great deal. For only $50 more than the Kindle Fire you get a great Android Tablet without the Kindle restrictions. Full Play Store access, Android Ice Cream Sandwich and many more in a small, portable, 7" package. I am seriously considering buying one of these, but I entered a contest to win one so I will wait to see if that happens first lol.
Looks like Samsung missed the boat with their tab 2s also:
