@witteeric: I can buy a 5 lb bag of rice and food coloring for $5 too, but it's not the same thing, now is it? Ever had a Haribo before?

@stark:

I have had Haribo gummies, and I do enjoy them. However, I have purchased Sam's 6lb Black Forest gummies for $6, and they're honestly just as good imo.

Black Forest's are softer and have a fruitier flavor. And the bag they come in is resealable.

But of course, individual tastes are subjective and we'll all have different opinions.

@bmason3604: Is your point that the two items are exactly the same, thus justifying witteeric's price comparison, or that people who actually have good taste should ignore it because the cheaper bag is cheaper than the expensive bag?

No. I said that they were different. Black Forest's gummies have a different taste and texture.

They are similar products, in that they are both gummi bears, therefore you can easily compare prices. Even if you think Black Forest are inferior, depending on how inferior could sway your opinion on if the double the price Haribo's are worth it.

>people who actually have good taste

Taste is subjective. Just because I like Black Forest doesn't mean you have a better palate than me. And it doesn't mean that Haribo's are better. It just means that in your opinion you like Haribo...

Nobody is ever unaware that you can get several pounds of anything for a few bucks at Sam's Club. It does not bear pointing out. If the two products are different, why mention the other?

And no, you misunderstand the expression "There's no accounting for tastes". It does not mean that everyone's tastes are equally valid. It means that people like me can shake my head in pity for people who you who think everything tastes about the same, regardless of its true quality.

Holy fructose Batman are we still talking about Gummi Bears?
"It means that people like me can shake my head in pity for people who you who think everything tastes about the same, regardless of its true quality." Really? Gummi Bears?
Looks like someone is saying if you like brand "Sams" vs brand "Harpo" you must be low class! I never knew that the Gummi Bear was the true test of good taste and sophistication.Where have I been,I mean who the heck knew this?

Putting these in the ground is a great way to rid your yard of moles....

@gusvonpooch: Yes I know the brand is Haribo and not Harpo,hope no one gives me poor Marx for my mistake.

I'm loving that almost everyone in this thread are getting their panties in a wad over... gummy bears.

Ignoring the ridiculous comment above me I have to say I love Haribo gummies. If you haven't had them they are harder than most gummies you can find elsewhere. Most gummies tend to just split between your teeth while these you can actually chew, I'm not even sure that makes sense. Anyway these are great and if you like them check out some of their other offerings.
