Malwarebytes normally retails for about $20 (though can be found cheaper). This is a great deal.

How much of a difference is there between the free version and the paid version of Malwarebytes?

The free version only scans. The paid version actively monitors for malware.

@jcl945: While you're correct, please allow me to elaborate: not just scans, but also repairs. 'Scans' makes it sound like classic crapware that would only scan for free but you had to pay for it to fix anything. Yes, that kind of garbage is still out there.
The active portion, like Spybot's TeaTimer, is pretty unintrusive and unnoticed, but is a solid product.

Anyone had experience with the Acronis True Image Home 2012?

HORRIBLE reviews. Too many 1-stars for my blood...unless someone can convince me otherwise.

@bbdickso1: I looked at some of the one star reviews, seemed to be a mix of clueless new users and experienced long time users... It looks like the latest version has some issues... I will stick with the edition I'm currently using rather than update to the 2012 until they get it straightened out...

For those who are just interested in Malwarebytes, Newegg has other sales on it fairly often. I recently got Malwarebytes and an 8GB flash drive for about $16. This is a good deal, though, if you want the Acronis software. Otherwise, if you can wait, you might be better off looking for the next Malwarebytes deal.

I have been running both Malwarebytes and Acronis on my systems. Acronis has been awesome but it's the 2011 version. I'm not sure what's in the 2012 that would make it that much different but hey..there was a decided difference between 2009 Ford F150 and the 2010 Ford F150. The thing I like about Acronis is that I can store my images on to my home's cloud systems.

If you have a Western Digital drive in your system, you can download and use Acronis True Image for free.
