As someone who works at a Coldstone Creamery, some stores will take the coupon even though it is expired, just so you know! :)

The Cold Stones here (MI/OH) are merged in the same store with Tim Horton's. Many of those will not take the coupons. Some will not even take gift cards. Seems they should not be able to refuse, but they do.

Where in Michigan have you seen this combo? In Detroit suburbs they pretty much just closed. I just know of one left, in Canton.

@kmz5082: And some stores (franchises) will not take the coupon at all. I had this issue with our local store. And while I do applaud your own store for giving superior customer service like that, some do not do as well. I strongly recommend people ask before they order.

The Cold Stone here closed, otherwise this would be a great deal.

Cold Stone near me closed up as well or I would so be there with this coupon.

Perhaps the Coldstone stores would still be open if one did not have to take out a loan for some ice cream. But with these low mortgage rates, a refi might get me back into a Coldstone on the cheap...

@pz@woot: I think the one in downtown Farmington is still open as well.

@mcogan1966: Each store is independently owned and operated, they just carry the franchise name. That's why some stores do not take the coupons. For example, on Valentine's Day a Coldstone in my area gave out free Love It Signatures to couples. Many people don't realize that the stores are not affiliated with each other aside from the company name and came to our store instead.

@kmz5082: This is generally the issue with all of the food coupons on Deals.woot. If you read the fine print they all say "Subject to franchise participation." Which means that any store may or may not take any given coupon. There is a chance that you could go all the way across the county to use a coupon, only to discover that "We don't accept this coupon here."

Which is why I usually don't pay attention to any of these.
