dealssamsung 8gb water & shock proof class 6 microsdhc…

vote-for24vote-against

I'm pretty sure ALL memory cards are water & shock proof. Hell, I've put my fair share of CF and SD cards (even one Smart Media card) through the wash in various pants pockets and they've all worked fine.

(I used to work at a camera shop. Demo cards would accidentally come home with me all the time)

vote-for5vote-against

So, is this limited to one item per purchase like it was earlier today (well, yesterday, for most of the US)?

vote-for8vote-against

Seems cheap enough to buy one just to have for whatever.

vote-for5vote-against

I dont even own a product for this and im tempted to grab a just in case one.

vote-for6vote-against

This might be a very n00b question, but are most smart phones and devices okay with an 8GB card? Or should I check the specs for the gadgets I may want to use this for?

I vaguely remember having a point and shoot that would only take up to a 2GB SD, but this was ages ago....

vote-for7vote-against

I picked up an 8GB class 6 a couple months ago off Amazon for about six bucks, so for two bucks this is a great deal to just have an extra one laying around if you ever need it.

vote-for6vote-against

I need two. can I get one and then sign up with another email and use same CC ?

vote-for6vote-against

Perfect. Just what I needed. I like to record all of my outings at the race track. This will allow me to have my own memory card for the track, and for family photos. Now all I need is an adapter..

vote-for6vote-against

Trasnaction can not be completed at this time...

Guess I will try again shortly.

Yes, in fact, most smartphones come w/ an 8GB microSDHC. The class 6 is mid-range read/write speed but should be fine for general applications. That would be the first thing I checked on the product to make sure it doesn't require a faster write speed, especially if it is a camera or video recorder, but this shouldbe ample for the average point and shoot. The 2GB limitation you talk about is probably the old SD standard that couldn't handle over 4GB; hence the SDHC, which is what all your current products will be running on (unless you're super high speed and are already using the XC, in which case I doubt you would be asking the question.)

vote-for9vote-against

I was able to purchase 2 with my paypal account but in 2 seperate transactions as you can only purchase 1 at a time.

vote-for5vote-against

Just got 3

3 separate orders same account

2 with same cc

and 1 with paypal

we shall see what arrives

vote-for6vote-against

I'm in for a handful! This will be great for the devices I can't justify spending money on a 32gb card for.

vote-for6vote-against

Great deal - in for 3. Just had to order one at a time but still pretty effortless using paypal.

vote-for6vote-against

this is a steal i can not pass! in for 5... darn woot!

vote-for9vote-against

@rekaks: I know, right? This one is an even better deal than a lot of the wootoff stuff. Color me happy!

vote-for9vote-against

@nowxisxforever: woot deals? Haven't seen one of those since Amazon bought 'em out. :(

Come back woot! - we miss you...

vote-for4vote-against

Not sure if my comment was deleted, and if so, why but I'll ask again.

Anyone already have these and know for sure they are legitimate? For some reason, maybe the super low price, I get the feeling they are knockoffs. Probably not but would like to see if anyone can confirm it.

Edit: just wanted to update to bring the blame for the "missing post" back on my dumb arse lol. There are two post with this deal so my silly question was sitting right there happy as can be in the other thread.

vote-for3vote-against

ordered 3 with 3 different accounts and 3 different visa gift cards :)

vote-for4vote-against

@jesterfx:

funny you mention this, before I ordered this thought flashed through my head

vote-for4vote-against

this is a great great deal and had to order 1 at that price.... ordereed 1 from a different site 2 dy ago and payed $15 for it....wish i would have waited 2 more days and could have saved more money.....don hesitate with this deal grab 1 even if you dont need it right atm nver hurts to look ahead

vote-for16vote-against

That site, 1saleaday, is legit. They would not sell counterfeit stuff. I have ordered some stuff from them several times. They are also on ebay under the same name, and you can "advanced search" that name - when they don't sell out their daily sale, they sometimes put the excess there, sometimes with a little higher price (instead of a woot-off kind of thing). They also do a woot-off kind of thing but not even as often as woot-offs. Plus, this promotion is a "sponsored" deal which was originally posted by woot staff and it leads to a special page URL just for this woot deal listing. Woot would squash them if 1saleaday was doing anything wrong with this deal.

Anyway, go for it, I did for 2, you just have to order 1 at a time there for this deal.

vote-for6vote-against

just bought 3 of them with the same account but 3 different transaction. i think it would have been much easier if they would have just let u buy upto 3. i mean its not gonna be like they will have to pay extra for shipping or anything. beside every transaction they have to pay the cc company. so i just dont understand the logic behind separate transactions unless their IT dept is really lazy, which makes total sense. lol

vote-for4vote-against

Bought one and left what's left for others to order.

vote-for3vote-against

I spent $2 on paypal for this, just to see if it was OK! Thanks for the previous input, gang, it made it OK to click buy now :D

vote-for3vote-against

In for 5! Got tired of retyping the info. B)

vote-for3vote-against

I got 10 using same PP account. Plan on selling them, at this price should be able to at least double my money.

vote-for4vote-against

Just got 5 of these :D I kept going back into the site and ordering. I feel like I will do this again later today (while supplies last!)

vote-for5vote-against

I was going to get more than one ... but then I realized I don't have much use for that many microSDs. Phones and tablets seem to be going the internal-only direction, and my cameras take standard size SD.

vote-for4vote-against

I bought a couple of these same cards before. They seem legit. Worked great in my daughter's Nook Color running CM7.

Mine came loose in a plastic bag inside of an envelope so I assume there is some small chance of damage in shipping. No issues with either of mine. i am in for a few more. For the price they come in handy.

vote-for4vote-against

@elwrayswrecker, you can always get an adapter for the camera for very cheap (a lot of times thrown in for free with memory card orders). I use a micro with adapter in my camera so I can switch back and forth with my phone to transfer pictures easily.

vote-for3vote-against

I am in for 10, I have a massive need for memory, was going to buy the 32gb sd card I saw recently for $17, but I do not mind a couple more cards for half the price

vote-for7vote-against

@ojohn: I've ordered from 1SaleADay in the past as well and had no problems. I can understand why some might be suspicious as this price though.
I'm in for 1. This will work great in the under-water video camera I Woot!ed awhile back.

vote-for6vote-against

At 130 dollars for a 3tb hd it comes out to .043 per gb and with these it comes to .25 a gb.

vote-for3vote-against

Think these are the same ones that Samsung sometimes bundle with their phones or camaras. They work fine for a class 6 card, which is more than fast enough for most day to day applications. Great price!

vote-for5vote-against

@navthesav: Try sticking a 3TB HDD in your camera

vote-for4vote-against

Woot! Perfect for the Raspberry Pi that finally shipped last night.

vote-for2vote-against

@dasclown:

yea i put it up there just incase people wanted to buy bulk as removable backup or building a solid state file system

vote-for0vote-against

I am not certain what you mean by "legit". 1salea day.com has sold counterfeit / knock off tech items in the past. Most of the "refurbished" items they sell are used not refurbished. Google them. I bought a 32 gb class 10 card from them that was slower than the class 2 card I already had plus the words on the face of the card flaked off when ever I touched it.

vote-for11vote-against

@jworrall: I'm going to be so mad if I get a counterfeit product for the price I just paid...

vote-for4vote-against

I just picked up 3, one purchase at a time, but I was signed in on my account at 1saleaday and used paypal for all three transactions, so the "one per person" does not seem to be enforced. I have purchased from this site several times in the past and been satisfied with my purchases. My tablet takes micro SD cards, and the more of them I have the more movies, music, photos and ebooks I can take with me on vacation. Hopefully my phone will also be able to use one, although I am clueless how to access it. Just part of the endless vista of more tech to learn.

vote-for3vote-against

Samsung cards are usually fine. Some tests show a slight bit slower than sandisk, but usually acceptable for most people. Some burst speed applications exceed its capability. I'm buying for this price. Don't need super fast.

vote-for2vote-against

just ordered two. just fine.

vote-for2vote-against

i just ordered one, as long as it can hold 8gb of info ill be fine.

vote-for2vote-against

@pocketbrain: What you gonna do with that Raspberry?
