@dameedithdivine: unfortunately, the description and reviews do not mention anything about ads. But I think I can safely say that ads would not be included as they would be very specific to particular U.S. markets and/or country (seeing it is a japanese creation). I will safely say the content would be purely Speed Racer anime. Which also cuts down on the number of discs required for the collection. Plus, who wants to watch commercials for content you pay for.
