@lindal33: Me too, as long as I'm not involved.

vote-for22vote-against

Apparently god doesn't want people with fat fingers to wait. Biggest size available is 10.

vote-for3vote-against

That's a very unique style, the 3 different color bands could symbolize the Trinity, if they so desired.

Unfortunately, this deal wasn't posted for the sake of being a deal, but the OP just wants to knock on those who believe this.

vote-for9vote-against

@spyder3o3: I've tattled asking for the judgmental religious commentary and tagging be removed - I suggest you do the same

vote-for7vote-against

So if I don't wait, it isn't true love? thaaaaaanks.

vote-for16vote-against

lol. people still listen to tribal banter that represses natural bodily functions?

vote-for23vote-against

If i had a nickel for every time someone has said abstinence only, I'd buy every man, woman, and child a box of condoms and say "Try this instead".

vote-for3vote-against

Very limited demographic on this one.

vote-for25vote-against

@jaredandsandy: Fat fingers don't need one because fat people don't get any.

vote-for2vote-against

Why is this tagged "sex?" People doing a search in deals.woot for "sex" items are not going to want . . . this . . . I'm guessing.

vote-for2vote-against

@luisibarra81: you just had to go right for the jugular

vote-for12vote-against

@jaredandsandy: Guys with size 11 fingers and up will have to settle for the discounted Maxim subscription elsewhere on the page.

vote-for13vote-against

it should say "Love Tom Waits."

vote-for3vote-against

@rayray8822: Good point... perhaps this should be tagged as "twilight" or "team edward/jacob" ;)

It's actually a really cool looking ring. If it weren't for the writing on it. And the fact it's made of copper ... nobody likes green fingers....

vote-for4vote-against

My personal issues aside (I'm all for abstinence until you get married, engaged whatever) but I'm not one to wear it on my sleeve, err finger.

vote-for21vote-against

hey, I think every good, moral christian should have one of these! It'll help with all kinds of stuff: knowing who I don't have to talk to, knowing when explaining my beliefs won't do any good, and perhaps most importantly? Knowing whether a chick's gonna put out. :D

vote-for17vote-against

And it can double as a makeshift wedding ring when the kids decide to say, "Screw this!" and, well, screw themselves without protection. Nothing says true love like a shotgun wedding with a baby on the way!

(I actually don't mind the abstinence movement, but it needs to be coupled with some real sex ed. You can't do the former without the latter.)

vote-for1vote-against

@shadowsoze: Every child, eh? Keep it classy.

vote-for8vote-against

I love the juxtaposition of this against the other deals today...Maxim subscription, nudie golf tees, open front "gown", and bacon flavored rim shot.

vote-for6vote-against

Hey, all my fellow geeks out there. You tired of people making fun of you not getting laid? Well, stick it to them and wear this. Now your social in-adequacy is a social choice and not a stigma.

vote-for1vote-against

@mgherter: lol i was kind of trying to finish my train of thought...it wasn't until i read it over again that i think 'children' isn't a good idea...just men and women! :)

vote-for17vote-against

Remember, anal doesn't count!

vote-for26vote-against

As a Christian, the entire concept of 'True Love Waits' is silly. Worse, it isn't entirely Biblical either. And that's not because abstinence isn't Biblical. The entire design of True Love Waits is entrenched with fearmongering, teaching kids that they won't be good enough for their eventual spouse if they don't wait. ("How will you feel when you find out your spouse waited for you? How would you feel if you gave them gonorrhea?)

Christianity isn't about True Love Waits. It isn't about abstinence. It isn't about intelligent design or evolution. It isn't about Republicans or Democrats either. Christianity is about Jesus -- and Him becoming so precious to you in light of the Cross that you would forgo the temporary pleasures of this world in order that you might please God through doing it the way He designed and intended it to be.

That being said -- feel free to point and laugh at us Christians for this silly stuff. We deserve it. Jesus doesn't.

vote-for1vote-against

@3horn: LMAO That's what all my Catholic friends say.

vote-for0vote-against

@mkramp: This is what I believe as well.

vote-for9vote-against

@mkramp: Amen to that.

I'm a Christian, albeit not a very religious one, but I get so frustrated at how genuine beliefs get manipulated in various harmful ways. The whole "abstinence movement" really has no basis in Christianity, it's just about controlling lives.

Very sad.

vote-for8vote-against

@mkramp: Well, since you said it's ok... HA HA!

Thanks for letting me get that out of my system.

What gets me is this romanticized view of marriage in the first place. When the concept began marriage had nothing to do with love. Marriage was always about property and power. Marriages were presided over by the clergy because the clergy was indistinguishable from the government. Men insisted on the women being virgins at the time of marriage in the same way I want to buy new equipment, not refurbished.

For all the people railing against letting gays and lesbians marry because it's not "traditional", I ask how many sheep and bags of grain their fathers' parents gave to their mothers' parents as a dowry before letting them marry and their mothers became their fathers' property.

vote-for2vote-against

Maybe, just maybe, sellout.woot is doing a natural balancing of its inner core by adding this ring...

Ah, who am I kidding, continue with the cheap undie dealz!

vote-for2vote-against

@elforman: If you really believe that, I encourage you to go read Song of Solomon. If that isn't a romantic, love-driven account of marriage, I don't know what is. And that has been a part of the Old Testament Canon for 2500 years or so.

vote-for1vote-against

I like that it's posted just above an ad for Maxim.

vote-for0vote-against

@rayray8822:
Replying to myself to say it looks like someone took the "sex" tag off which makes my joke irrelevant.

vote-for0vote-against

I was thinking about buying this for @matthewjfazio's mom but I lost my @ohcheri "ring sizer"...

vote-for2vote-against

@mkramp: Bravo! Glad to see you've been able to word something carefully enough to get others on your side and posting more about this.

People who are pro abstinence usually are pretty crazy, and show it in ridiculous ways. The ring is something to be kept as a reminder that you are trying to stay pure for Christ, and forgoing your own personal desires.

Like said, you worded it very well, and I applaud you for it.

vote-for3vote-against

I appreciate the ring because when the maid of honor at my wedding dropped my ring and couldn't find it (outdoor wedding), she passed her "true love waits" ring to my wife. fortunately i have little fingers.

vote-for1vote-against

@one22653: yeah but you only had to wait like 45 seconds after that... lol

vote-for1vote-against

@elwrayswrecker: It's made of stainless steel, not copper. The extent of the copper in this set is one of the bands is copper colored.

It it was pure copper, you could melt in down and sell the copper for more than you paid for the ring, copper is expensive these days...

vote-for3vote-against

In the end, isn't abstinence a lot like dieting, or regularly putting money into savings, or going to college? Present struggle for future payoff is a choice for everyone, has personal meaning to certain individuals, is a responsible type of behavior, and will always get ragged on by people who don't hold the same values as that individual.

vote-for1vote-against

mkramp - there actually was marriage long before Song of Solomon was written. It also did not involve clergy. I believe the earliest examples were in Mesopotamia and were based on the Code of Hammurabi - and that's a few thousand years older than Song of Solomon.

vote-for7vote-against

dislike (and I bet the people wearing those have plenty of secks)

vote-for1vote-against

@ clickondan - There is a downside in that a couple may find out they're not sexually compatible after their marraige (maybe one is kinkier then the other, for example) and that could/would lead to discontent in the marriage and eventual/possible divorce.

vote-for1vote-against

Yah, let's wait until after we're married to test that whole living-together-sex thing. I mean what could possibly go wrong?

The thought of seeing this on someone is humorous, yet kind of makes me throw up a little.

vote-for1vote-against

@femaster: Scrap copper is around $4 a pound here. How big are you fingers?

vote-for3vote-against

@fett101: This happened to a friend of mine. They now sleep in separate beds and hate each other but won't get divorced because marriage is sacred.

vote-for2vote-against

Studies have shown that teenagers that state that they're waiting for marriage are more likely to have sex and are more likely to not practice safer sex. A deal is a deal, but I don't appreciate the judgmental description used.

vote-for6vote-against

Religion is about controlling people. Get them really sexually frustrated and you can get them to do anything including giving money to the church, blowing themselves and others up, and even voting republican.

I'll have none of it.

vote-for1vote-against

@wstromer: Yes Republicans (Wink, Nod)

...ITS A JOKE PEOPLE

vote-for1vote-against

This looks a bit thick for a pierced...whatever.

vote-for2vote-against

In for tw...no, wait, never mind...

vote-for3vote-against

Successful troll, OP. Well done.

Sex deserves an incredible amount of respect, and it shouldn't be thrown about as carelessly as it often is, this is true. That being said, it's a helluva drug. Abstinence sounds great until you've had sex in public.
