As good a price as I've seen on this drive. A good workhorse, this is going into my present desktop build.

@narquespamley: If you want the best performance, couple this drive with a medium size (128GB) SSD. Install your OS and often used files on the SSD and reserve the large drive for the rest. Even a relatively low powered machine will scream. I have used this method on several relatives' machines when they thought they needed replacements. They were very pleased...

Won't let you use PayPal with the WOOT discount code. Not the first time this has happened. You'd think WOOT would stop trusting this retailer to live up to its commitments!!

what a bust, they don't offer the deal as advertised. I'll just keep my money NewEgg!

@hsif47: The promo code expired yesterday.

@tradergeorge: that's exactly what I did, a 250gb SSD for C and this for D. It boots W7 in a touch over 10 seconds. I needed a new system anyway, old one has a number of reliability issues that I couldn't count on hard drive swap and OS reinstall (XP to W7) to resolve, particularly since it takes at least a whole weekend to migrate in either case.

@hsif47: You cannot blame Newegg because you waited too long and the code was expired. You should check this site early. Most codes expire on the same day or after a certain number have been sold...Remember that the deals on this site are relayed by customers and it is up to the poster, not Newegg to remove them when they are no longer valid....Your anger is misdirected...Cheers...

@narquespamley: Cool!!!....Most people who try this are amazed at the difference, especially in an older machine that has slowed down over the years. I always recommend an SSD for a boot drive these days and have had few issues...
