looks like a good starter set for someone
Are these better quality than these http://sellout.woot.com/offers/75-piece-mechanics-tool-set-1 ?
Yes. Craftsman is much better quality than Stanley. Stanley does work well if they are not used working on you car, just tightening up bolts on a bike or building shelves. Craftsman work taking your transmission out of your car if you need, plus lifetime guarantee. If you break one, take it back to Sears, and they will give you a new one.
@bsmith1: Stanley and Craftsman are both relatively good. (I know I'll get dissenting feedback)
To me, neither set is complete enough to keep in a vehicle, though. This set lacks deep sockets, for example, other than the spark plug socket, while the other lacks a 1/4-3/8 adapter. I've found the latter invaluable to use on the end of a 3/8 extension. YMMV.
Craftsman are decent. Not amazing. They don't compare to snap on or mac or a bunch of other pro tools. And they've been made in china for quite a few years now. As far as warranty, it used to be no questions asked. Just bring in the tool and they give you a new one. Now, you need the receipt.
I know I'll get some dissension here, but Harbor Freight sells a better set for $9.99. Also a lifetime warranty.

@garyoa1: When did that start? I've been swapping hard tools for ages. sometimes you have to be adamant or wait for shipping but I haven't encountered needing a receipt. It's a craftsman so swaps aren't even a deal it's just part of being a dealer. that's why ace stopped carrying them.
24 of the pieces consist of screwdriver bits and hex keys(Allen wrenches).....Pass
@bigelowb: I'll give you a +1 for having the courage to post that.
Wrong price. $33.59 is new set price.
Put in code giving10 and it comes down to $30 and change. Always good stuff from mygofer.
