dealsduke nukem 3d (ios) (iphone - ipod touch - ipad…

Free for iPhone/iPod touch. $.99 for iPad.

Got all excited... then discovered the same thing that @vallejokid did. Sigh. :[

This is a fail. I wanted to download it on my iPad2, saw I had to pay. Checked my iPod touch and saw it was free.

Apparently you can download the "iPod" version on your iPad for free. But the iPad designed version requires it to be purchased.

Seriously? Complaining because you have to pay 99 cents for the iPad version (regular $2.99)? Maybe you can put up a lemonade stand to raise the 99 cents. It is still a good deal.

i just downloaded the ipad version for free. Went straight to the app store from my ipad, not through itunes.

What perplexes me is that anyone cool enough to play Duke Nukem could be lame enough to own an Apple product.

It's time to kick A and chew bubble gum... And I'm all out of gum.

@bigshayne: why is this a "fail"? It's a free game

Edit: I followed the link here which took me to the iPod/iPhone version which I downloaded on my iPad. I can't imagine the iPhone version zoomed in x2 has much worse graphics than the iPad version. Even if the iPad version does have better graphics the controls are terrible making it not worth the $0.99.

I only voted this down for it being available for Apple products. I love Duke Nukem 3D, but Apple products surely don't deserve this game. maybe Oregon Trail.

@nerdyjustin: Yeah, ever since Apple summoned Satan to our realm and murdered all those innocent people last year, I've been feeling like a boycott is justified.

I don't get why people are so thrilled with Apple. overpaying for plastic, cannot change batteries, dull designs, and all the little restrictions that put on everything. I suppose in ways it makes those people feel safe or something. rather illogical and lazy in my opinion.

While it's nice that this is free. It really is a terrible app. The controls are awful, making it almost unplayable. I played for about 10 minutes, got annoyed and deleted it from my device. Get it because it's free, but you probably won't put much time into actually playing it.

This game has not aged well. A classic in its time, yes, but hasn't aged well, especially when you factor in the touch-screen controls.
