Here are the phases I went through when I saw this.
1. Excited for more MST3K awesomeness
2. Worried my girlfriend might find out I spent 75 bucks on them.
3. Sad when I realized I already own all but 2 of these.

Also why can't they just release the whole series? I'd gladly take out a loan to pay for it at the crazy rates they charge for these things.

vote-for8vote-against

A lot of these used to be included with Amazon's prime streaming, but then they started charging. What gives?

edit: checked again, looks like some are free again... I will have to start watching again

If only they included some of my personal faves, Prince of Space, Puma Man, and of course, Final Sacrifice.

RRRRRROWSDOWER!

Wait a sec.. I already have those! :D

@gideonfrost: Better yet, an instant streaming service. Offer an MST3K option when you sign up for Netflix. I'd do it.

vote-for6vote-against

I have some of these already. but I'd buy a set that included "Overdrawn At The Memory Bank."

"Breathing makes me breathe hard..." - Crow

vote-for7vote-against

@dover7: Netflix does offer some on their Instant play. Go Netflix!

@gideonfrost: The rights issues are incredibly complicated. For instance, "Puma Man" hasn't been released on DVD because (IIRC) they can't get in touch with the copyright holders.

@sillstaw: I understand that but I want it to happen anyway!

@jazzmark: "I'd buy a set that included "Overdrawn At The Memory Bank.""

Poor Raul Julia. "Mom... my nuts?"

vote-for3vote-against

@dover7: They do have it on netflix streaming...found this out last week I was exstatic! They have a wide selection too...

There are a lot of MST3K's on streaming netflix, including the movie. Also there's a Justin.TV station that runs 24/7 with MST3K episodes. If you're a true fan/collector, go for it. If you want to save yourself the money, though, stream away.

Are they still NOT putting subtitles on their DVDs? I'm not even sure that's legal, but it's definitely annoying and why I've avoided buying any.

Anyone know where to find them (subs) online? I've searched and searched, and nothing.

vote-for3vote-against

@gideonfrost: It's a shame because they would have to purchase to rights to a lot of these movies for them to be able sell their versions of them. It's why we'll probably never see the Godzilla ones on dvd. Almost all of them are out there though you've just gotta know where to look.

And there's always Rifftrax now

@cavalierx: Here's looking at you, kid.

A lot of the MST3K movies that are currently on Nexflix are expiring this month. Watch them while you can.

I've confirmed from the Rhino listings at mst3kinfo.com that all of these are the Shout Factory re-releases of DVDs already released by Rhino. I think the Rhino ones are all out of print so this may be the best way to fill gaps in a collection. I don't know if there is any difference in the content. I'm sure the episodes themselves and additional shorts if originally included haven't changed, it would be extra features (if any) I'm wondering about.

Even though I'm pretty sure I completed my Rhino collection when I finally scored "The Beginning of the End" off ebay (and yes I've got the original volume 10 collection with "Godzilla vs. Megalon") I'm still on the edge of being suckered in to pick these up. If I knew about differences from the Rhino releases it would be easier to sway yes or no.

What? No Manos: The Hands of Fate ? I'll pass.

@grexican: OMG thank you! I'm going to watch that Justin.tv channel now :)

The Red Zone is for Cuba and un-Cuba only.

vote-for2vote-against

This used to be my favorite show. and the movie was great!

vote-for2vote-against

How much Keeffe is in this movie?

vote-for2vote-against

@budrose: Miles O'Keefe.

In for one set. I have Red Zone Cuba (I actually have the entire Coleman Francis/MST3K Collection, but that's a another story) but none of the others.

Plus had a coupon for $5 off, so free shipping. Woot!

I loved these back when I saw them on Comedy Central and later on Sci-Fi. Lately I've been re-watching them on netflix, so the DVD's would be nice to add to my collection. For me personally it seems that only comedy movies and collected seasons have any replay value to me, everything else collects dust on my shelf. Oh and btw you can see these guys riff live through Cinematic Titanic too.

@gideonfrost - I had the same "I'll buy em all! How much?" bent. There are a couple of folks still selling DVDs* of all episodes that haven't made it onto official DVDs yet. hayce.net/mst3k/ is where I got all of mine

*which last I'd heard, was still on the up-and-up thanks to the "keep circulating the tapes" stinger at the end of most of the episodes.

vote-for2vote-against

One of my favorite MST3000 is "Manos: Hands of Fate". If that was in this box set, I'd buy this in a heartbeat.

vote-for2vote-against

I struggled the whole day, but I eventually wooted. I am powerless over such awesome forces.

vote-for2vote-against

@captaintr1pps: by the way...do NOT go online and try to find subs from the 90's. You won't like the results.

vote-for2vote-against

Showed my daughter some of these clips, she lol'd.

In classic MST3k style, she still repeats the "Well I'm glad I got that out of my system" line from the end of this clip:

@captaintr1pps: I dont think they can for technical reasons. I mean, what would they subtitle? The movie or the riffs? Or both at once?

vote-for2vote-against

I thought it said $6.99.. I was about to bust out the wallet. Ha.
