this was an awesome deal ! went in today to buy (can't get this deal online?) and the employees didn't even know/believe the price was that good. one employee asked me if it was a price-match price. great find !!!

I bought 2 of these, and might get another

Still in stock online - got the 1 year just in case for $15. Looks like it might break easily and with best buys only 2 week return policy.

They might have done this to match the B&N sale, last Friday, where there were $49. As to their breakability, just use common sense, and they hold up just fine (e.g. get a padded cover on Amazon for 6 bucks). Unlike the new Nook Glow, these have buttons, a SD slot and a pleasant color bezel (not to mention the ability to have >500MB side-loaded content).

Love mine. Got it neutered after a couple hours of reading instructions and downloading the correct patch files. Currently have access to my Nook, Kindle, and Kobo books all on one device + a few good android apps and games. Very happy with it so far!

I got one and the sales rep told me that because of the holiday season, the return period is extended to January 15th. Extra trial time!

@laidbackoh: even tho I am on my second ST I consider it to be very solidly made. It's very comfortable to hold and is pretty tough.

I prefer the feel of this ereader as well.

Not sure I can justify the purchase. Checking the reviews on B&N, this model has a screen cracking/tearing problem. Almost as many 1 star reviews listing the problem as there are 5 star reviews loving. It seems the problem is hit or miss and can appear in very little time after purchase, or not at all. Seems maybe BB could be trying to dump stock.

@ajtleo: 14 5-star ratings, 2 1-star ratings. Unless BBY has been cleaning house in their review section I don't see as many 1's as 5's.

@ajtleo: "screen tearing" is the perfect description for what appeared to happen to my first ST. But this was after hundreds of hours of reading, I mean dozens and dozens of books (I am a voracious reader). I did not hesitate in getting another off Craig's. I find that e-ink is much easier on the eyes then an LED, which I do have as a backup. No way I'd ever pay >$50 again for one of these, but I'd buy even a third one as a backup in that price range, I like them that much

I love my NST w/ Glowlight. I do have the screen cracking issue, which makes bright areas when the Glowlight is on but is unnoticeable otherwise. Just the fact that you can root it and install the Kindle App, Kobo app, Google Books app, etc on top of the stock B&N stuff is awesome though and gives you a lot of flexibility. I'd definitely grab another if any Best Buy within an hour and a half drive had any in stock.
