I'm especially happy to see the med kits included!

vote-for17vote-against

You should upvote silo11's post because he actually posted this deal an hour before it was put up on sponsorship.

Very good deal by the way.

vote-for2vote-against

I wouldn't be surprised if the fine print said something about requiring a "constant internet connection". Isn't DRM great?

vote-for2vote-against

For some reason I like to remember this as $20 for the 2 pack, but it's been $60 for the 2 pack, and that doesn't come with the med kit or bases for teams 3 & 4. Good Deal for those interested!

@veroniquehicks: There goes Ubisoft f**king over some poor guys upvote train ticket.

vote-for6vote-against

Sorry I had to downvote this one as it's a dupe of @silo11's post.

I up-voted the original posted deal though :)

vote-for10vote-against

I've noticed one thing about this site, while they have some pretty good deals, they greatly overstate the original price of an item. For example, the wireless dual-band router that they have on sale today, they say it normally sells for about $220, but best buy and amazon sell it for about $80, but they do have it on sale for $30. I just don't care for the fact the exaggerate the original price so much.

vote-for2vote-against

That's not "this site" -- that's everywhere. "List Price" is not the same as "street price".

vote-for2vote-against

Can I play this game without being connected to a computer? Say, in the woods behind my house.

vote-for2vote-against

Am I the only one that thinks this is a crap deal? Who wants to play laser tag with three people, where two gang up on the other? One on one gets pretty lame after a while too, there's not much strategy. Or depressingly enough, by yourself? They seriously need to sell these with at least enough equipment to outfit two teams of two.

vote-for2vote-against

I actually bought 4 sets of the two pack the last time it was up. It really is a lot of fun to play and works very well.

I'm a little disappointed that I didn't get the med packs and extra T-bases though, especially because I can't seem to find that pack anywhere, and this would have ended up costing the same.

Like others have said, you need more than one set for it to really be worth it. A 4-on-4 team battle was amazing.

@saquack You have to use a computer to play, but it has something like a 900 ft range, so you don't have to be too close.

vote-for3vote-against

Just picked up two. Like other mentioned I didn't like the odd number of players, I had to even it up.

vote-for3vote-against

This seems rather expensive to me... i never rememeber laser tag being this much

vote-for2vote-against

This is a hell of an impulse buy but yeah, I'm in for 2. This really looks and sounds cool as hell. But it's not cheap either!! Hoping that if I don't get around to playing it much I can resell them later and at least get a decent chunk of the cost back.

vote-for3vote-against

Why 4 bases but 3 guns and vests... and 2 med packs? so confused.

vote-for2vote-against

In for two! This Woot deal is legend- wait for it...

vote-for2vote-against

@sumduud: The base set comes with 2 guns/vests, 2 ammo packs, 2 bases, etc. This deal also includes an extra gun/vest pack as well as the med kit expansion that includes 2 med kits and bases 3 and 4. The ammo and med kits are meant to be placed around the play area, not kept with the players, so that is why there are only two of each. As far as the bases, you will need another gun to have 4 teams to use all the bases, but there is also a team based mode that uses 4 bases with only 2 teams as well (sort of like capture the flag).

vote-for3vote-against

In for 2, now I need to recreate some Quake levels...

vote-for2vote-against

Thanks, got two of them for my my son's upcoming birthday.

vote-for2vote-against

Bought one, and the reviews from all over the 'net indicate this thing is goddamn awesome; having said that...please note that the product has been discontinued. So, that means that while you can play and locally save all your stats, the on-line site no longer tracks stats, nor can you download new game modes.

Shame this never took off. It was released prior to the Skylanders craze, when people didn't think videogames and physical objects could work together.

vote-for1vote-against

@clrobertson: I really wish this would have taken off as well. I would have loved to easily create my own game modes for it.

You will get an update when you first run the software that downloads a few new game modes.

If I ever decide to stop being lazy, I might mod some game modes of my own, the scripting language looks pretty easy to understand.

With this, every night could be legen...
...wait for it...

vote-for1vote-against

Be wary of this company. Sometimes they ship what you order... sometimes they don't.

vote-for1vote-against

@calcmonkey: I ordered these last time from the same company. They shipped very quickly and I received exactly what was described.

vote-for1vote-against

it appears that @silo11 deal has been deleted

vote-for1vote-against

@sheetz: Then you were very lucky! I had several orders that didn't arrive for months after lots of complaining and I know people who are still waiting on a refund or their order. The product might be fine... it's the company to be wary about.

vote-for1vote-against

@Sheetz:

Ebay has the med pack expansion for 50 bucks right now, and you can find it for about a hundred.

Also, my friends and I just ordered 4 of the packs, so we'll almost assuredly have spare parts (do we need 8 bases & health stations for 12 players? I doubt it...) so I might be convinced to part with a pair of med packs & t-bases for a reasonable price.

Email me at flatline42(at)gmail.com and when the items come in I'll go through it all and see if I really need all that equipment or if I can't help you out.

vote-for0vote-against

So this thing actually exists? I wasn't just having some psychotic episode when I saw Ubisoft playing laser tag on stage at E3?

vote-for1vote-against

I was going to jump in on this for my daughters "welcome to the world" present in a few weeks. I figured I could school her and my wife (even 2 on 1) for the first couple years, but then the girl'd probably get good enough to beat the pants off me at least 1 out of 3 times. And by the time she was in the double digits, forget it!

Alas, the deal is dead. :o( Woulda been fun to play in our yard with all the trees and shrubs and stuff.

vote-for2vote-against

@calcmonkey: @sheetz:

I was a little leery myself but I already received tracking numbers for my shipment. So far so good it looks!

vote-for2vote-against

Wow. And got home today and all 3 sets I ordered have already been delivered. Color me impressed.
All 3 appear to be factory sealed and complete, brand new units. Now I've just got to find some time to actually use them!
