They still make Blackberries?

vote-for13vote-against

don't waste your money, ebay.

vote-for30vote-against

$235 for a cell phone and they couldn't even throw in free shipping? Bummer.

vote-for2vote-against

Welcome to the Simon deal. :::jabs at the Blackberry with a sharp stick:::

vote-for42vote-against

Dear Woot, 2002 wants their deal back.

vote-for13vote-against

This is a RIM device.. I have had this model since it was the Flagship model at T-Mobile for BBs -- this is a piece of CRAP -- get ANY and I mean ANY other phone.. get a Droid or an IPHONE do NOT ever EVER get a RIM device.. thank me now.. I've just provided you with years back on your life that you would have wasted trying to get this POS to do any of the basic "smart" phone tasks that would make you want a smart phone... if I didn't HAVE to use this for work (as its provided by them) I would have thrown it in the toilet and laughed all the way as I watched it circle the drain just like RIM will do very soon -- as a side note I have a droid phone as my "real" phone and LOVE it.. my friends have Iphones and love them.. enough said.. PASS

vote-for18vote-against

I can get a Samsung Galaxy S phone for cheaper than this on ebay. Why the hell would I spend it on a Blackberry bold? Bad deal. Pass.

vote-for7vote-against

I can't believe they still try to charge the same price for the same outdated junk... RIM is so arrogant. All those corporate dollars must have blinded them. Blackberries are only used for businesses with Blackberry mail servers... which is also by today's standards.. outdated.. If you own one and don't employ Blackberry mail service in any way.. my only question to you is...'WHY?' These things don't have even half the functionality of ANY Droid or Iphone.. never have.. never will...

vote-for9vote-against

Folks should pass on this one, bad deal!

vote-for6vote-against

Anyone that buys this should be met at their door by men in white coats and nets and taken post haste to the nearest mental institution. That dull thud you heard was RIM hitting the ground. Nothing to see here, move along.

vote-for-51vote-against

These are fully boxed, unlocked Blackberrys, backed by warranty and in "Like New" Condition. You can not compare them to eBay sellers who find phones and sell them

vote-for39vote-against

@discountlaptopshop These could be brand new phones hand delivered by a supermodel and the deal would still get voted in the toilet. The phone sucks that much.

vote-for5vote-against

They still make phones that you don't touch the screen?

I was almost sold when I read it has a 3.2 MP camera. (sarcasm font)

vote-for8vote-against

You can get a new Blackberry for free with a new contract with most Wireless Providers I think, still. They used to hand them out like they were door prizes, that was RIM's cheap way of keeping their market share numbers high. And for under $240 you can buy a new and better Android. No deal.

vote-for5vote-against

@jai151: Does the supermodel hang out for the day or does she just hand you the phone and leave?

If she'd hang out by the pool, I'd pay $235 for her company.

vote-for9vote-against

Yes I can compare them to eBay. If you need a BlackBerry your company will provide one for you. BlackBerries are antiquated and nobody really needs one unless your business is required by the govt or corp policy. They aren't user friendly for corp IT and just suck in general. Do yourself a favor grab a iPhone 2g and save yourself $200 and the headache.

vote-for7vote-against

Did they really pay to list this deal? If anybody is up for buying this I have a dirty sock that also doesn't have a touch screen I'll sell ya for only $70

vote-for7vote-against

@n8cook: I'm going to 1-up you.

I have a Moto Razr somewhere in my apartment (older flip version). It may or may not work. $65+shipping.

vote-for4vote-against

@mrjb: Probably similar specs to this device - I might pick that up from ya.

vote-for10vote-against

Everyone is obviously overlooking the fact that the phone comes with a free screen protector which is already applied when you get the phone! That alone is a $20 value!!

vote-for2vote-against

I loved my blackberry bold. I don't see what all the hate is about. I wouldn't pay 250 bucks for one... but I still liked it. I went from the curve to the bold. Never had any problems(except the time it went through the washer) It's a good phone, but not at this price.

vote-for3vote-against

Rick Romero here.. Unlocked phones are more expensive than you would expect. More at 11.

vote-for7vote-against

Be honest, Woot. This "deal" is really here just to field test an item having a 4-digit negative score, right?

vote-for6vote-against

I agree this is a rotten deal and deserves every downvote we can give it, but that's with everyone calling for the demise of RIM? Don't you have any sympathy for all those RIM employing not having their RIM jobs?

vote-for6vote-against

This "phone" at THAT price... what a RIMjob...

vote-for3vote-against

I'm forced to carry a Blackberry for work... I wish every day I had an iPhone. I would not pay $200 for this. But it's better than the plain ol' phone I had before...

vote-for3vote-against

Wait a second, I have to pay THEM for this hunk of obsolete junk? I thought they were gonna pay me $235 to take it off their hands.

vote-for15vote-against

Is this really a deal? $235 + ~$20 shipping or $250 for a refurbished phone. Also, I hate how companies try to "slip in" an extra charge by default (in this case a one-year warranty for $20). Doesn't give me warm fuzzies.

Additionally, Newegg has a new one for $290 + free shipping and includes a free Samsung stereo bluetooth (currently selling at $35) with it.

See http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875353081&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-Cell+Phones-_-BLACKBERRY-_-75353081

That's only $5 more than this deal when you figure in their $20 shipping charge and $35 bluetooth for a new one versus a refurb.

Oh, and by the way, it's a fargin' Blackberry.

vote-for1vote-against

I have my iPhone for my personal phone, but I carry my Blackberry for work. It's not a bad device. I love Blackberry Enterprise from an Administration side, and have to admit that Blackberry still has a very valid market on the business side. As a personal phone... no thank you. There are much better phones for this price. However, if you are a large business deploying for work purposes, with the goal of secure business email connectivity... you can't beat Blackberry.

vote-for3vote-against

If you own a blackberry, and it is not mandatory to have one for work, then you are a fool

vote-for1vote-against

@jheppner: i stopped reading your post after the words "my iPhone" due to instant destruction of credibility.

vote-for8vote-against

@discountlaptopshop Look, nobody is saying you wouldn't deliver the goods. We're just saying nobody wants the goods you're selling here.

vote-for1vote-against

@pinchecat: Yowzer! Pull back those claws kitty-cat! Can't we all just get along?

vote-for3vote-against

the poster of this deal should be banished from woot indefinitely and forced to use this phone for 1 entire year.

vote-for1vote-against

FYI: The govt currently requires all its peeps and contractors use blackberry devices for security reasons. Either next year or the year after the gov't will be transitioning to "iOS" devices. Now whether all its contractors will need to comply, not sure but it would be a welcome site.

Also IT folks love iOS and hate dealing with the rim.

vote-for2vote-against

The poster should receive lashings for one year and HALF RATIONS!!

vote-for0vote-against

@ndcouch: Why? if all you do is email and text, with some light browsing, BBs are just fine. Apps aren't everything. And not everyone likes touchscreens.

vote-for0vote-against

i want to change my phone all the time and i am looking for great phone deal. I think it is great. However, are there other colors?

vote-for2vote-against

You crazy? First off get an iPhone or if you must a android product. If that fails get a crackberry on eBay on the cheap.
