A professionally honed straight razor, a leather strop, and a strip of balsa wood for use when the strop alone just won't do.

I admit I was a little put off by the method the site uses for purchases but decided to give it a shot anyway after checking the reviews of the site elsewhere (he has many linked in his 'about us' section.) I'm very glad I did and look forward to purchasing from him again.

PS for those of you looking to buy this as an economic way to get into straight razor shaving you'll also need a brush, bowl, and soap. A Van Der Hagen kit with just that can be bought on amazon and many other places for about ten bucks.

I've ordered from this place before. Absolutely upstanding guy. He is a real deal honemeister and is very honest and straight with you about his products. He answers emails in a timely manner and it's not just all business with this guy. He has offered advice to me on more than one occasion and the knowledge he shared was spot on. He knows what he's doing and his products are completely above board. Can't say enough good things about doing business with this guy. THIS is the correct way to get into straight razors if you are interested.

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
