Hard to find info, i think this is PMP350-4 not PMP800-4.
Here is a manual: http://www.southerntelecom.com/polariodsupport/downloads/PMP350-4.pdf
cannot find anything on polaroid site.

anyone know anything about it?

Gets one vote from me just for not being crab-related.

A buddy got me a deal for Xmas, and I bought a bunch for gifts. They're ... quirky.
Sometimes one will read directories, sometimes it just sees it- without the files. One won't see any SD card. You could put four identical in a row, and they all run a bit different. The "press for five seconds" On/Off button may mean three for this one, and just over eight for that one. The battery doesn't last too long on any of them- maybe on standby or off, but using it daily means charging it daily.
Oh, and support is non existent. Don't take it personally.
when it works it's a pretty good iPad cheap surrogate, and when it doesn't it's just wind chime material.

Good deal if you're looking for a cheap kid gift.

And how did this crab thing start?????????

Nice...I can start checking Woot again now that the crab fun is all done and over with!

I've been looking for a replacement mp3 player but don't want to buy an expensive one...was all about this one until I saw they were outta stock. FML

@benyust2
Agreed. What was with the crabs anyway?

The 8 gb version sells for $99.99 new (at TRU anyway). It was on sale for $49.99 a couple of times. It sold pretty well but I never heard any feedback from customers on how well it performed.

polaroid makes mp3 players?

vote-for1vote-against

Polaroid does not make mp3 players. As a desperate bid to avoid collapse, they began licensing their name to anybody who would pony up the cash. The original Polaroid mp3 players, called the JukeJam, were terrible things made by a no-name company in Taiwan. I know this because I spent $500 on a pair back around 2005. When they died within months, there was no support. Google for Polaroid JukeJam and you'll see horror stories. Mine was the PMP-600, so this multi may not be related. My advice, though, is staying away.
