And don't worry about how much it will "grow" over the year as updates are just piled onto existing files instead of purging the old - after 6 months your machine will be half of what it could be.

Get Eset NOD. Best in the world, you'd think it wasn't doing anything because it never bothers you, just sticks to what it's made for.
Good right out of the box, better if you spend time to configure it.

@bigshtank: Alleged. Let's keep the lawyers quiet.

No matter what the price, McAfee and Norton are not deals.

Even at free, this isn't a deal.

I suppose if they PAID me to take it I would think about it. But then I would immediately reformat the computer I installed it on :)

@oldcqr: My thoughts exactly. I cant tell you how many computers I have fixed because of Norton corruption. It wont even uninstall half the time, and I am supposed to think it "cleans" viruses or malware? lol Its just bloatware with a fancy name if you ask me.

I've been using Norton Antivirus for years at home and never had any problems, besides it being a resource hog, but it is effective. I did try 360 and Internet Security and my machine behaved badly, so I uninstalled. Have used McAfee at work and many had gotten viruses, more than with Norton. Say what you will, but I will stick with Norton AV.

EZ rebate vs the upgrade rebates. Norton stuff is fine enough and not so intrusive as the Mcafee stuff. Mcafee slows down the computers. Not complaining about the price/no tax, free shipping, don't have to leave the house.

I clicked on "I want one!" and when it goes to the Newegg site the price says $69.
