X-Men Quadrilogy - X-Men, X-Men 2, X-Men for $19.91
Amazon UK has X-Men Quadrilogy:
X-Men
X-Men 2
X-Men: The Last Stand
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Blu-ray for £10.99 - £1.83 instant savings at checkout + £3.08 shipping = £12.24 (or ~USD $19.91).
According to Blu-ray.com users, this Blu-ray set is Region A (US) and Region B (UK) encoded and will work on US Blu-ray players.
Could you link to the Blu-ray.com posts where they say it is encoded for Region A, too? I found one that said one version is region free but I'm not sure if it is definitely this version...
Each and every time this exact deal comes up I feel like I need to post this. I really wish that I could set up something that automatically looks for this deal each time it pops and automatically have it post what I am about to say.
I purchased this deal in the past, from the same Amazon.co.uk page. THIS BLU-RAY COLLECTION WILL WORK IN U.S. PLAYERS. If you do a little research you will find what I am saying is true. Look at the customer uploaded pictures on amazon of something trying to prove to you that they are both region A, B, and C classified. X-Men Origins: Wolverine is the only one that is only A and B classified, but that means that it will still work in U.S. players.
What you are looking for with Blu-Rays is a region code of A. If that is listed, it will work in U.S. Blu-Ray players.
That being said, this is once again an excellent price for this collection, and is well worth waiting the few extra days having it shipped from Amazon.co.uk
Hope this clears things up.
Take a chill pill there, champ just wanted to make sure. 9,000 pages of deals, your "every time this is posted" comment is seen by almost no one relative to how many users are here. But thanks for the info nonetheless.
I really only liked X-men II - but I appreciate the efforts on the others. First Class could have been epic, but it sort of fizzled, I did enjoy the casting of Michael Fassbender as Magnito.
The X-men universe poses a challenge because it is so huge and encompasses so many characters, it's nearly impossible to encapsulate some of the most popular story lines into a 2 hour movie. They barely scratched the surface of the Phoenix, Mutant Registration Act, and never really attempted the Sentinals. Those were the stories that defined the early X-men, which sort of related to social issues occuring at the time.
@meh3884: In no way was I attacking you. If that post was directed at you, I would have replied to your post like I am doing with this one. I simply wanted to cover all the bases before people questioned this deal like it always happens. People have conflicted with me on this deal before stating I didn't know what I was talking about so I wanted to make it clear the first time that this will work in U.S. players.
In no way did I mean to attack you, my apologies if my previous post seemed that way.
If only there were a way to trade out "X-Men: The Last Stand" for First Class.
First Class was good but had some details that conflicted with the previous movies, most of which can be overlooked easily. The Last Stand was a raping of the franchise on a scale more epic than Indianna Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
take out xmen-3 and wolverine and I would consider buying it!
@ryanwb: I'm glad to see I'm not the only X-Men geek out here. I'm old enough to have bought the FIRST issue of X-men back in the 60's. I just wish I had the nerve to tackle the boxes of my old things in my mother's attack so I could find it!
@micro1331: http://thetracktor.com/
Tracks prices for products alerts you when they are in your range. It also shows the price of an item for the last week/month/6 months/year right in amazon after you install the plugin.
@morpheus282: Could not agree more with you!
Does anyone know if the digital copies are included with the order? If so...do you think they have expired or are still redeemable? Thanks for your help fellow wooters!
Like @morpheus282, I'd trade out The Last Stand for First Class (I'd even throw in Wolverine in that trade, too...), but I guess this is worth it for the first two movies, since they end up being about $10 each (not bad for Blu-ray...).
I'm guessing Danzig wouldn't be interested in this.
