Might be a good deal, but making me give up my email address to view it makes it not worth considering.

OneSaleADay is a good (and safe) web site. That have great bargains, but it drives me crazy that they started making you "sign in" to view their site now. Kind of a P.I.T.A.....

Does anyone have an opinion on the knife set? I've been looking for good knives to replace my bargain set (a good deal at the time, but have seen better days), and I'm really put off by how expensive good knives are. This $40 deal has me a bit skeptical.

@jpbjpbnet: FYI - Make one up. I just looked using, sho@sho.com and ahahah for a password. They don't check anything or require email confirmation.

@jheppner: My wife picked these up from elsewhere for the same price. they seem sharp (time will tell), she's cut herself already (too used to dull knives), fortunately it wasn't a bad cut.

I haven't tried shaving with one yet, that would be a true test. I agree that "good" knives seem very pricey. for those $ lifetime sharpening should be included.

Never owned a knife block, so can someone please tell me the if you need to dry out the knives before putting them in the block to prevent bacteria, mildew, etc? especially the real wooden blocks? Looks unsanitary because of not knowing what's stuck in those tiny slots. Thanks Always placed my washed knives on the dish racks and then the drawer.

I'm done with 1saleaday, takes WAY too long for them to ship stuff.

@woottj: They do get dusty down in the slots. I turn the sharp side of the blade up so it doesn't dull the knives.
