if you're not familiar with IPS, read wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPS_panel). essentially, it means two things
1) better color reproduction - it's more 'accurate,' making it better for things like photo manipulation
2) better viewing angles - unlike most normal monitors, there's no 'color shift' when you look at the monitor from different angles (top, bottom, sides, etc.)

(and this isn't just any IPS monitor, mind you, it has a 1920 x 1200 resolution - that's right, everyone's favorite 16:10 is back)

so, get it while you can!
