I think these might not actually be 1000 thread-count (i.e., not a particular good deal). See http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/1146471/ for a discussion of (the same? similar?) product and comments.

@morsedl: If that's true (that 1000 TC is not 1000 Thread Count) then that's really sleazy, and I would hope Woot would not support this, at least without a HUGE clarifying statement in the main body of the deal.

They are very careful with their wording in the ebay listing. They never actually say it's 1000 thread count. Sketchy, bordering on false advertising if true.

They are definitely NOT 1000 Thread Count. They are microfiber or flannel. They say they are "like" 1000 Thread Count. There is no such thing as 1000 Thread Count microfiber. Nowhere do they say what "TC" is. Everyone assumes "Thread Count", but it definitely is NOT! I got some of these and they are horrible. Cheap quality. Will not last.

@amemait: I'm glad someone has first person experience. Not that gearxs is to be trusted anyway. Everyone always has negative things to say about them and this just adds to it.

The only time I felt taken at woot was when I bought some microfiber sheets. They were much cheaper than I could have bought used from a Motel.

Of course it was only $25 I think and we all know how great woot is about returns. Will I am on the rag I also have a refurb Cisco wireless N router dead out of the box. Again costing about the same. I am starting to think Woot might try having a access point to your account i.e. show what you have bought, so you can return it in the time allotted.

If I get another broken thing from there sponsored deals I a throwing in the towel. Good while it lasted.

Microfiber aint so good in winter coz man-made fiber causes higher number of static shocks and in summer better to have a fabric like cotton to keep cool

^^ those aren't cotton.. no idea what they are. I e-mailed that seller once and asked, "are these 100% cotton" and the reply was only, "Not at these prices".
I'd stay away they are probably pretty similar to the ones listed here.

Polyester "sheets". . . .?

vote-for3vote-against

I bought some "1000 TC" Micro Fiber sheets for $29.99 last July, thinking that this deal was too good to be true.
Turns out it was! They are very thin and not made from cotton, they are hotter to sleep in, and therefore uncomfortable. They were soft, almost to the point of being slippery.
All in all, I threw them out as I just could not get a good night's sleep, for the two weeks I tried them out.

If you buy these make sure you keep your toenails manicured or you will have holes in them within a week. They are cheap and thin.

The flannel sheets state they are 100% polyester. Yucko.

MicroFiber = Polyester. Buyer beware.

I'm glad I took the time to read the comments and didn't just buy these because they have a positive rating and I'm a little desperate. Or, more importantly, thanks to this community for loving to keep it so real. It's nice that the whole rise in t-shirt prices, crappy BOCs (pun slightly intended), or sellout to Amazon hasn't driven you all away.
