I've bought some things from abesofmaine before and they are always great! If you call them up they will sometimes even through in other free items. A+ vendor in my book! My mom bought a camcorder and they gave her a coupon code for a restaurant.com $100 gift certificate.

NewEgg actually has a 15% off special on DSLRs today, which lowers the price on the D3000 I believe to like ~$380

Can't really say I recommend this one, particularly at this price. It only has AF with AI-S lenses, it won't meter with older f-mount stuff, and the noise levels are pretty bad on this.
As for the guide mode, I personally find it silly, but I understand the uses for it. Point is, you'll get better mileage out of a K-x or 500D, or a D3100 if you want Nikon.
