Bamboo cases for cheap electronics is the new "put a bird on it." Don't get me wrong, bamboo is a awesomely cheap, renewable, and stylish resource, but tossing your cheap wares into a case for it makes little sense when you're just arbitrarily boosting the price up to meet the trend.

@mikeymet: $35 for a well-designed, good looking radio is "boosting the price"? What does your blanket statement have to do with the product posted? Do you have this?

It's just a design choice to use bamboo, and honestly it has been in existence in products for years in many parts of the world for its structural integrity. That's not new, well, may be to some Americans it is. But any one who has traveled a little know that's not the case.

$44 bucks for $9 max worth of components is boosting the price to me, as eco friendly as it may be. Meant no offense, just don't consider it a deal, more of a novelty.

@mikeymet: Do you go to restaurants, and tell the restaurant owners, that the food ingredients are worth only $3, while they are charging you $20 for dinner? Or the glass of wine is worth only $1 if you bought it at the store, while they are charging you $7?

No, you don't. Why? Because there is a cost in craftmanship, design and the cost of logistics to get things to you.
