I have purchased from them and have had no issues. Pay attention to the condition code and what is and isn't included though. I purchased a condition code 5 and couldn't tell that it had been used.

Can someone personally vouch for this seller? They seem pretty sketch to me.

I have had my Tablet S for about 2 weeks and when I received it I was concerned about the fact that the packaging wasn't sealed. Everything, that was supposed to be with my item as outlined in my cart was there and my tablet was secured in the box with some shrink wrap type material. The condition code for my tablet was either 5 or 6 and honestly, it looked brand new to me! At first I was nervous about ordering from cowboom but now I recommend it to a lot of friends. My tablet has worked awesome and the price was even better after $50 off!! Tried to order another for a friend today but the discount code has expired.

@skunkmonkey: Ha! The remote thing works pretty well on TV, DVD player, stereo system and cable box.

My tablet arrived today. For a 7 it's got some scratches that are livable - none are on the screen. My problem however, was the shipping. It came in a box with flaps that tucked into the box BUT THERE WAS NO TAPE on it at all! ANYONE could have opened that box. I've got a message into Cowboom to see what's supposed to be in the box to see if its all there, but it's too early for a reply.

These already have an Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) update available from Sony. Just connect to Wi-Fi and it should prompt you to download the update. Sony is very good about updating their Android devices.

@bdogatx: If I had to choose between those 2...this, hands down.

So would you guys get this or the 32gb touchpad at the same price point?

Put one in your cart, see the condition.. if you don't like it, remove it and repeat. I finally found a 7. I bought it after reading that they overstated the wear. I have my fingers crossed.

@aphroat: You have to use the code at checkout (see original post). They are not sold out at this price. Grade 5 is really much better than they lead you to believe. I have bought LOTS of stuff from them.

Sold out at $189.99; "add to cart" gave me a grade 5 for $240. Pass.

Because these actually have an IR port, they can be used as a very amazing universal remote control.

But with all the other downsides to this device, that might be the best use for one. Goodness knows I've considered it.

These tablets are junk. Poor wifi range, no gorilla or dragon glass, and it locks up randomly and often.

Maybe Woot will get some more of the NEW 32GB S tablets for $260 so I'll wait

CowBoom is owned by best buy. As for the grade, they have a tendency to overstate how bad the condition is. If they day it has some scratches and stuff like that, there might be just a tiny scratch on the back or something. Check out previous posts from cowboom to see what I mean, a lot of people have bought from them and had no problems.

I love my 32gb Sony Tablet S... but I'm not entirely sure about this retailer... I'd pass on this as well, just for peace of mind. But if you're willing to take the chance with the retailer, go for it - the tablet does not disappoint.

Started to order one until I started reading the condition(s).. the refurbished was graded a 5 (out of what? Their FAQ said they were graded A, B, C), the used one said it had a scratched screen. Pass.
