I have two of these - excellent performance so far. Battery life good so far, the first one is about 3 years old, got the second one damaged box cheap.
Most of the cordless Craftsman tools are 19.2 volt and use the C3 battery. There aren't many 18V tools offered, so using this as a way to start a collection of Craftsman tools might not be the best idea.
THERE IS NO FREE SHIPPING AS OF 4/12/10, 5:18AM! You must sign up for the Sears ShipVantage program for $79 a year!
I have also had great success with Craftsman power tools. But, I highly recommend Lithium Ion over NiCad. You'll pay about 1.5 more now but having the ability to recharge the battery in an hour is SOOOOO worth the money. If you sign up for Craftsman Club here,

they often offer a LiIon drill with a couple batteries for around $130. Plus the deals on all the other Craftsman gear are insane. I just purchased a drill/driver, mini circular saw, LED light combo with two Lithium Ion batteries and carry-bag for $199.00
