$11 for shipping - OUCH! Dealbreaker - cheaper total cost on other sites...

Is this some sort of minimalist netbook? Are they worth a damn?

You just have to not buy it, man. It doesn't work. Even for the simplest things. Bought one for $40 awhile back hoping to give it to my sister as a cheap computer. It isn't even a cheap computer. It is a nothing. You can't even type a decent document on it. Do not buy.

@rex b: These run Windows CE (Windows Embedded Compact) which is a bare operating system with very little functionality on its own. It is rarely used on its own (WinCE is most often used as in GPS systems, point of sale machines, etc. to run full screen specialized Windows Software).

I personally would pass on this, and just look for a cheap Android tablet -- even that will probably have a lot more functionality than this.

I just ordered one a week or two ago and still haven't received it - same brand Sylvania and it is 4 GB flash drive for 40 dollars refurb... I got it from DailySteals.com . Does the 4 GB make a difference in functionality? I hope so.. I haven't even received it yet and I am very discouraged by the comments here.. I thought it was a pretty great deal for a starter computer for my 62 yr old Mom ... can anyone give me some insight on this.. I Have never dealt with netbooks. I may still be able to cancel the order. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance : )

@katronia: Got one for my 3 year old to play with. It could have a 500gb hard drive and still be worthless. The operating system does nothing, and allows for nothing. Can you go online? Sure. Can you actually load any kind of web page created in the last 5 years? Barely.

The above comments are correct. Save your money for a refurbished tablet. Or go on Craigslist and get a used laptop for $100.
