We meet again Wooters! Hope you all take advantage of this great deal, I know we had lots of people who missed out in our last one because of a sellout. And if you're one of the people who scored one of our hammocks in a previous deal, please chime in and let everyone know how good life's been since. :)

As always, I'm here to help if you need me. I'll be up for a bit monitoring the sale and answering questions on the Live Chat and then back at it in the morning - looking forward to introducing many of you to the wonders of a Trek Light Hammock, you truly won't find a better deal than this.

Just looked at the double hammock a few minutes, then looked again now and the color choice went from like 7 to 3, did the other 4 colors sell out?

vote-for4vote-against

@lunchbx: Yes, we had a very limited supply on a couple colors that went quick. The color choices available now are our constant bestsellers which is why we have the most stock available for the sale. You really can't go wrong with any of the choices, they all look great in person.

these types of hammocks are great. this is all I use for car camping and backpacking which I do frequently. The comfort is excellent and I seem to always find a place to hang it up. When I got a little nervous on my first solo trip I just swung in the hammock and was instantly at ease. I have the eno mosquito net but almost never use it unless it's absolutely unnecessary. I never want to sleep on the ground again!

I have been sleeping in my single Trek Light hammock since about March. Never regretted the decision. It did get cold, so I used a sleeping bag until I could save up enough to buy an underquilt from another place (since Trek Light doesn't sell one, cough cough). But despite that mild inconvenience, I've had the best sleep of my life in that thing. Never have back issues, never wake up in the middle of the night. And I can easily remove my "bed" so my room has more space. It's great!

So I just bought a double.

Hank Scorpio: Uh, hi, Homer. What can I do for you?
Homer: Sir, I need to know where I can get some business hammocks.
Hank Scorpio: Hammocks? My goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that? Hammocks! Homer, there's four places. There's the Hammock Hut, that's on third.
Homer: Uh-huh.
Hank Scorpio: There's Hammocks-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Put-Your-Butt-There.
Homer: Mm-Hmm.
Hank Scorpio: That's on third. Swing Low, Sweet Chariot... Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the hammock complex on third.
Homer: Oh, the hammock district!
Hank Scorpio: That's right.

@jgmcgowan: That's funny. I don't know if everyone got it.

Hikes with my kids never give enough time to use one i think. How quick could i string one up you think?

Judging by the photo, it can handle a LOT of weight.

I don't really understand why this is such a "great deal" when you can get the same thing for less without requiring a "blowout sale"... e.g.: http://www.hammocks.com/hammocks/fabric-hammocks/ultralighttravelhammock.cfm

for those who don't feel like clicking: Yes, it's a single, not double, but it's $35 and free shipping!

I love a nice hammock, but I'm bemused by some of the insane prices being charged. In Guatemala you can get a beautiful hand-made hammock for less than 1 chicken! ;-P

In for 2! Will be great for camping, tailgating, hunting, etc.

vote-for2vote-against

Been waiting for one of these. In for one!

@ckeilah: I try not to discuss other competitor's products unless asked but the hammock you linked to is not only much smaller (shorter and 2 feet narrower), it's just no where near the same quality. If you look at the weight allowance it's only rated up to 250lbs which is a clear giveaway when buying a hammock that it won't last you long. Even if you don't plan on ever having over 250lbs in the hammock it should be an immediate indication that you're dealing with a much lower quality material and manufacturing. And it looks like that hammock is also on a 'blowout sale' - regular price is listed as $59.99.

@eworthing: With our Go Anywhere Rope Kit you can hang the hammock or take it down in under a minute, even with zero experience. There are no knots to tie or untie when setting it up which makes it fast and easy for anyone to put up in a hurry. Even if you're just enjoying a short break on a hike or trying to catch a quick nap on your lunch break, the hammock is a perfect companion.

@treklightgear: Thanks for answering my comments! You've intrigued me!... I have been wanting to try out these new nylon hammocks ever since my old Guatemalan one bit the dust, but the additional $8 shipping, and supplying my own ropes, is killing this deal for me. I do see now that y'all include the S-hooks! :-)

vote-for2vote-against

@ckeilah: You can always use your own rope to hang the hammock if you want to avoid buying our kit, that's exactly why we sell it separately. But with today's deal you'd be hard pressed to be able to get the same quality rope any cheaper - you get two 7' lengths (each one is 14' cord doubled up) of lightweight paracord that are each pre-knotted and come in a small carrying pouch with printed hanging instructions. Give us a try, you won't be disappointed!

If you had added the tarp, bug screen, rope, and Carabiners, I would have purchased. Add $8 shipping? No problem.

vote-for2vote-against

Will the ends hook onto the top of a cubicle? :D

vote-for4vote-against

I bought one last year and love it. The quality is great! With the rope kit, we get flexibility to hang it at home on the patio using a simple hammock stand or to take it with us to the lake. It's a simple luxury which is so relaxing. Trek Lite Gear sold us something we will be able to use for quite a while. Even though we had to wait months to use it in Minnesota, it was worth the wait.

vote-for2vote-against

It seems that one you add together the cost of the individual components (rope kit, rain and bug shield) you've got yourself something that's more expensive than some of the complete kits on amazon. I camp in the deep south (cue banjo music) so I need solid bug and rain protection, but my current semi homemade kit offers that and only cost around $60. I'm looking at some other items on amazon

vote-for4vote-against

Nice deal. The hammock + Rope & Carabiner Bundle + shipping cost me $75.13 which is a little less than the regular price for just the hammock alone.

vote-for2vote-against

I've seen these out at tailgates and camping trips. I've wanted a modern hammock ever since I saw my first non-rope hammock. I ordered one with the hanging kit and I can't wait to try it out in my backyard!

I find it interesting that 1-2 days after the sale all the colors appear to be back in stock...

vote-for1vote-against

@rooksie: No need for conspiracy theories. :) We always have specific inventory set aside for the sale, like most businesses the Woot sales are a great way for us to move our best selling colors when we have plenty of stock available to meet the demand. The other colors available now were not eligible for the sale so we took them down and put them back up after it was over.

No ill intent, just offering a huge discount on our best stocked colors!

I wish this sale would happen again!
