"Eh! Threw it as soon as I got it. Had a huge sticker on it labelled - Can cause cancer or not good for pregnant peeps. Oh well!"
@kypi: The reviewer wasn't exactly truthful about the warning label. Lots of stuff has a level of toxicity, including the mini-lights I string on my Christmas tree, and a label that says to wash hands after using the product.
I bought this product a few months ago. Just touching it gave me the willies -- think of slightly softer, gooier play-doh -- but my husband happily took it and uses it regularly. And yes, he washes his hands afterward, which is a good idea with lots of products.
This stuff works very well. I have some for home and work and am going to get more for when I use those up.
As for the "cancer label". That is courtesy of overzealous legislation. You are not going to get cancer from cleaning your keyboard. Maybe if you ate a few pounds of the stuff.
I have this product and no sticker on mine. Wonder if this warning is like the one on a Slinky that says something like "do not use in a moving vehicle". I threw mine away when I saw that warning because where else would you use a Slinky?
I just orderd a two pack for $4.99 so you save another $1.00.
my guess is that there is a solvent used to keep the goo from drying out, and almost ALL solvents toxic, but the small amount of solvent that is actually in the goo is no where near enough to harm anyone
i've been using a 5 pound hammer to clean my keyboard. gets between the keys with no effort and cleanup is as simple throwning into the trash....;-)
I have some of this stuff (although not from Meritline). It's like some of the gook or slime that's sold in the toy department. Slimier than play-doh or silly putty but kinda the same idea. Mine has an overly fake lemon scent. But it works well. I use it every couple of weeks to help get the built up dust and other snew out from between the keys on my keyboard. It works well.
Good luck trying to find something that's not "toxic". Alcohol and smoking are both carcinogens......also microwaves, computers, cleaning products.... on and on.............
i ordered this several months ago along with another item. i got the other item but was told this was shipped from overseas and would arrive soon. i have yet to receive this item from meritline.
I've always held off on ordering this kind of thing because nothing ever says how reusable this is. So...how reusable is this?
I think I would just play with it... if it could not be scared about the cancer thing.
@almax00: I would contact Meritline again,I've ordered dozens of items from them with almost no problems at all. I did have an item missing from a shipment once,I contacted them, they came back with a question(don't remember what it was now)I answered them and they (re)shipped the item.If you have waited months and not weeks sounds like they messed up,so I would let them know.
@ribzer: I've used mine 12-15 times and it still seems to be working fine but I'm not sure if over time it just does not lift grime off the keyboard anymore. I guess if I get a dozen plus uses for the $3 I paid then I'm happy.
In for one! My laptop is SOOOO dirty!
My order has shipped but I know it takes a long time to arrive.
Went to buy one and the price is $3.99 not $2.99
