How can they be wireless if they're corded?
$85 on amazon, pretty solid reviews. I've ordered dented box items from Logitech before, never had any problems.
if this was like $25 I'd buy it for sure, $30 I'd consider it... but $45 is a bit much to buy 'just for fun' I'm afraid.
These are pretty decent, and provided only the box is damaged then it's a good deal.
The specs on Logitech's page just say iPhone or iPad, but any a2dp Bluetooth-capable device (Android, HP Touchpad) will work. There's not much on the market between Logitech's wireless speaker and Bose's $300 wireless portable Bluetooth thing, and while the Bose delivers loud sound and decent bass, it's not $250 better.
The included USB Bluetooth adapter is not proprietary so if your laptop already has Bluetooth built-in or you have your own USB Bluetooth adapter then it should pair fine with this.
And they're already out of stock! Anything else, Woot?
Done, over, out-of-stock, gone.
out of stock blah I just finished my order to get denied
@nadastayiz: I got that from Logitech few weeks ago for my roommate and it was 79.99 from Logitech dented box if I remember correctly great system.
I bought one of these in September for $70. It's perfect. Too bad it's sold out. Still worth it if you have to pay $70.
It's sold out but there are other offers. See the details area or click through the link.
Logitech can't get their act straight with the remotes. Why would I want to buy any other stuff from them?
ive got one of these and like it a lot. 45$ is a good price.
the sound quality isnt perfect, but good enough for its size. It is small and portable. i use with my evo 4g to play pandora. i only use the bluetooth and it is pretty good (infrequent disconnects).
i also have the 715 (well, the wife does) and it sounds ten times (10x) better than the 515. i recently saw that logitech has a 715 variant with bluetooth. so given the choice i would not get the 515, but would instead get the new variant of the 715 with bluetooth.
Sigh ... I snoozed, I loozed :) ... I have been eyeing these speakers for awhile waiting for a deal ...
I have been looking for something just like this for my office. It's nice to see that WOOT is taking care of their customers and choosing sales with a supply that lasts until what looks like 6:30am; that's when burhanistan posted they were out of stock. Nice
The Bluetooth speaker is $59.99 at Best Buy brand new. I actually bought it there about a week and a half ago on sale for $49.99, which I would assume is regularly the sale price. I also bought the Bluetooth version of the 715 at the same time for $99.99 at Best Buy. It's called a "wireless boombox" and drops the 715 number for some reason. The 715 I bought for home and has a much bigger sound. This 515 sounds pretty good, too, but is about half the size of the 715. Just what I needed for work to play tunes from my iPhone. Both models have built-in batteries to use them on the go without plugging them in. Good values to me.
@kyesdad: Better check your Woot time settings or something. They were sold out WAY before 6:30 AM CDT. Probably were sold out like at 12:20 or so AM CDT. I happen to live in the Central Time Zone a bit North of Woot, so it's easy for me to keep up :-)
However the ever-resourceful @prettywootprincess added some deals...I just ordered the magnificent Logitech Wireless Marathon Mouse M705 With 3-year Battery Life for 26 bucks shipped. See the links above in the blurb.
@therealjrn: I guess I read the time stamp incorrectly...oh well.
@crashemt: What do you mean, exactly? I just received a Harmony 300 for Christmas and so far I think it's a great remote. Needs a little reprogramming, but I'd rather have it be that potentially flexible than be rooted so firmly to what other remote manufacturers seem to think buttons should do.
Little bummed that I missed this deal. Looks pretty good, considering the price is much lower than Bose's offering.
@kriderzero: Yea, you missed the bullet. All the other series have been suffering from a self-induced DDoS attack, and cannot initiate or update.
I've had my 650 for 5 months, and I loved it. Now that I need to update me equipment, I had to pull out all the old remotes to replace my 650. At least until Logitech gets their doo-doo together.
As I said previously, why would I continue to buy from a company that cannot deliver the support promised on their products. And if you are looking for universal remotes, read the Logitech forums first.
@bennnnard: Agree completely. I tested many portable music docks just a few months ago, and the sound quality on the Z515 and most other options in its price range just isn't very good. The Z515 doesn't put out a full frequency range and especially lacks in the low-end.
I wanted something that had decent sound quality, a built-in battery option, and an auxiliary input with out costing $300+ (cough, Bose, cough) and the S715i was right up my alley. I've used it in my apartment, outside, and while traveling and have been very impressed all around. It puts out a well balanced sound that can get nice and loud (I work near heavy machinery so this was important to me) when you want it to. The bass drops out a little when not plugged in, but still sounds way better than the Z515. The only reason I wouldn't recommend the S715i is if bluetooth is important to you.
$45 is a good price, but if you missed this deal get the S715i. It retails for $150 but is on Amazon for $99 right now.
