Anyone know the drive speed and other specs of the drive inside?

a quick google search turned up an ebay post that said it is a 5400 RPM drive, basically what you would expect.

FYI... Was at Costco today and they had the 3TB for $130.

according to an amazon customer "The drive in my enclosure is a Seagate ST2000DM001 (part# 9YN164), which is a member of the Barracuda 7200.14 series: SATA 6Gb/s, 64MB cache, 4KB sectors (Advanced Format technology). The internal drives used for comparison are 20-month old Seagate ST310005N1A1AS-RK, which are members of the Barracuda 7200.12 series: SATA 3Gb/s, 32MB cache, 512B sectors.

If you'd rather not have to crack open and throw the enclosure away, I found the bare drive here for $101.80 shipped. Advantage? At least you KNOW you're getting a 7200rpm drive this way (according to the website's specs, anyway).
