why was the previous post RIP'd?

by the way, this is valid on tablets too, some deals on dell streaks and motorola xooms if you can find them
@kamikazeken: I thought that when I saw this one too. Thought it was a duplicate then saw the other one was dead.
it's YMMV, but you should be able to use this at office depot or officemax since they take competitor's coupons.
The old one was RIP'd because of the expiration date. This is the same coupon with a new expiration date. Apparently they decided the deal worked out so well and and it caused so much of a fuss last time that they decided to extend the old deal. Saw this posted at a few of the other deal sites, and they all say that staples really liked the turn-out so they kept it going.
@the18thtee84: the old one had the exact same expiration date, 2-11-12

@kamikazeken That is really strange, because I know for certain the old coupon said expires 2/4 (I have it printed from the previous post). I can only assume they just updated the coupon without changing the link, so now the old link reflects the new coupon. I am not trying to steal anyones thunder, I just saw the updated coupon and wanted to share.
Edit Nevermind. I was referring to the one from 5 days ago (the one I pronted), not the one from 1 day ago. Ill leave this deal up since the other one was RIP'd somehow, so everyone knows its still live.
I tried to use my $50 off coupon yesterday at the Staples near my house. After calling many of the Staples in my area to find out that they had none of their advertised clearance laptops in stock, I actually found the clearance laptop I wanted, the only one they had. It was a display model but still in excellent condition, that is until the moron who was removing it from the display dropped it and broke the battery cover and god knows what else inside. They offered me an additional 10% off but I would have to pay for any repairs. I offered them my middle finger, a hearty FU and left.
I have only shopped at Staples a few times. That will be my last experience with them.
@cleaner00 You could always go to Office Depot and see what they have. They accept competitors coupons, so you could use this on any of their qualifying clearance items.
That's an excellent suggestion, thank you!
@the18thtee84: Just got off the phone with Office Depot. They do not accept competitor's coupons according to the customer service rep I spoke with.
bummer.
@cleaner00 You probably talked to a new guy, because the definitely do accept competitors coupons...

You may have to show them a printed price and the coupon or something, but they will price match, even with a coupon.
@the18thtee84: Thanks to your advice and some persistence, I was able to pick up a very nice clearance HP i7 at OD. They accepted the $50 off coupon AND it had another $50 rebate on top of it being clearance and a display model that never actually went on display because (they did not have security bars long enough to hold it to the display counter, it's a 17.5")
It cost me about $475. Very very happy with that purchase. Thanks again.
