never seen this site before, anyone have any experiences? The wife wants a DSLR for Christmas and there are a few in the "leaked" Black Friday Ads, but this is a far superior camera to those.
@fyrfytr44: I'd hold off for a better deal. Just a couple weeks ago the 5100 was posted on woot for a slightly lower price - although it might have been a refurb.
As for the camera, I got the wife a refurb d5100 a year ago, and if the price was the same, I'd definitely choose a factory refurb 5100 over a new 3100. It's a great camera. And since the 3200 came out, prices on the 5100 have dropped more significantly than the 3100 (go figure).

Amazon is only $20 more, which is a small price to pay to get an item like this from a known retailer with stellar customer service.
was about to post what jds4life said XD. Also cyber monday is almost here so might get some camera deals from there.
And the camera plus 18-55 mm lens is $120 more on Amazon
The leaked ads all are the EOS T3...with Radio Shack and Sams Club having pretty good Black Friday pricing
This 5100 refurb deal is $424 at Adorama Camera. It has been public for a few days now. http://www.adorama.com/INKD5100KR.html?emailprice=t&utm_term=Other&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=Other&utm_source=rflaid62905
Funny.. when I sanitized the link above, the price went up $5. So the unsanitized link is back.
@fyrfytr44: The leaked price on that Canon is not a deal, the same deal with 2 lenses has been as low as $380 two times in recent weeks. $500 is a rip-off - not a deal. This Nikon is light years ahead of the T3 in a head to head. If I needed a 3100, I'd buy it at this price.
Get the body at Adorama today for $379 and but the extra cash towards a better lens. You're welcome.
With this lens, $476 on Amazon.

They're very new, but I haven't had any problems with them yet. They had another big deal on Deals Woot two weeks ago.
Wow I didn't notice this was the 3100! Please I implore you! Go to Adorama and get the 5100 for $380 and buy separate glass!
I have been looking for a good deal on DSLR. I'm a bit less financially flexible than usual, so I have to be 100% before I can pull the trigger on this. I am very interested though.

@jheppner: If you are not familiar with photography, go to a store and use the 18-55 lens. you can zoom out about a foot. Yes, that is an exaggeration. But, I recently (as in last weekend) got a D3200 and being new to photography paid little attention to the full zoom capabilities. I was back at the store the next day buying a Nikkor AF-S DX 55-300mm ED VR Lens so I could actually zoom out a bit.
That being said, these cameras take some pretty impressive pictures (to my untrained eye).
