Do these defend against mace and pepper spray? I was looking to do some peaceful protesting this weekend.

For $10, I figure why not? If they work, cool, if not, then I still saved 6.50 on the shipping from my order because of them ($16 other item), so I'm only out 3.50, and I can live with that.

free shipping if you spend $25 or more on qualifying items.

@sn00gs As someone who uses OC/pepper spray, I'd say no, however they'd be more effective than just regular sunglasses since they partially seal your eyes. Then vent holes (which face forward) will allow some of the oc in, and it won't be pretty. Against gels they can be effective (though the feeling of OC on your face still hurts) or very direct sprays (the can was in your eye) which would block most but expect a little go get in due to the vents. Against a fogging type can....you're pretty much screwed...if you go in the fog(with or w/o the goggles).
So whatcha doing that you expect to get maced? Links to it on youtube? C'mon you know you wanna post that link.

Do these meet ANSI Z87.1/MIL-DTL-43511D standards? If not, you would be better off with ESS Profile NVGs.

@juansinanos: Your alternative to these $10 goggles is $90 goggles? You sound like a paintball snob.

@sn00gs: Pepper spray affects more than the eyes. It is an irritant and affects mucus membranes in the nose, throat, and lungs. Goggles might stop eye burning, but you'd still have a runny nose and coughing.

Can't find the manufacturer's website. Googs just shows deal sites and retailers.

no legitimate paintball field in the US will allow you to play with these. They're fine for airsoft, but not paintball.

I would really call scratch resistant and tested with paintball hits as tactical... If they were ballistic then yes tactical, these are (mod edit: profanity) otherwise

@tenkin: I am a paintball snob. With regards to paintball, neither these nor those other goggles would I wear or ever allow on my field. And my outdated masks(s) cost more than $90. There's no face protection.

These are probably good for what they are intended: keeping dust and debris out of eyes. That is it. All eye protection is only marginally wffective against pepper spray since it works on eyes and sinuses as @nameless1 already stated.

I don't even think that this deal is good you can get ANSI 87.1Z (shatter proof glasses for <$2.00 dollars form almost any work safety website like Uline, Granger, or Lab Safety. If you want tactical glasses/goggles you want Wiley X.
