Moofi's deal rankings are so inflated :P
I bought a very similar model to this (no wifi, but16x zoom) for work, and it takes superb photos for a P&S, and is very durable.
The story is at odds with the description. While in the writeup it notes that this camera will save your career because it doesn't upload pictures instantly, the specs specifically note "Wi-Fi Connectivity (802.11 b/g/n) for easy, instant communication by image sharing". It can even connect wirelessly to your Android phone.
This product is clearly an underhanded attempt by the (other guy) party to trick (our guy) into buying this camera! Unbeknownst to the (officeholder/candidate), it has been pre-programmed to instantly send pictures to a cell phone hidden in the flip-flops of that rugged looking guy who wanders around the beach. We must not let this camera end up in (our guy's) hands! Or, we could try to keep him from getting drunk and taking pictures he'll regret. Like we have a chance at that. Let's focus on the camera.
All these camera deals miss the most important part. A close-up view of the front lens element, so I can read it, or a complete listing of that information. f2.5 to what? f2.5 continuous over the entire zoom range I sincerely doubt at this price point, so give me all the info. If it's f5.6 or worse at the telephoto end, it's rather useless.
@choppercharles: From the specs tab:
Aperture: F2.5 ā 5.9/ Iris Diaphragm (F2.5 ā 8 (W) / F5.9 ā 18 (T))
some of the most expensive telephoto lenses i know of have a 5.6F at their Telephoto end, this really does not make for a bad lens. this would be a bad reason not to like the specs. In fact , Just the fact that the Lens is a Leica its is likely a good lens. what do you expect for $139.00 . they are still a disposable type camera, you know the kind that wont kill you if it gets lost or broken.
google Panasonic Lumix dust issues. dust gets into lens and sensor. sensor is somewhat cleanable, check youtube videos. but its a tricky job to clean it yourself and not guranteed to be spotless. if dust gets inside the lens, then you SOL.
that said Lumix had best pictures of any camera i had, but dust eventually makes it unusable.
