with shipping, it's $4. I figure I've spent $4 on a coffee, so what the hell. If it sucks, it'll make a great Christmas present for the inlaws.

Why would anyone in their right mind buy this? You are absolutely GUARANTEED to receive three crappy DVDs that you do not want. You are much better off buying lottery tickets with your $4. Then you can dispose of them very easily when you don't win.
Got this before. They are generally REALLY crappy movies. I bought 3 last time they had it: I got a 100 cartoon set, the Ernest collection, and and Son of the Mask.
All of which you could typically find at a dollar store.
This has white elephant written all over it.
People, there is a chance you may get "Ernest Scared Stupid" on DVD.
There's no way you can afford to NOT get this deal.

@huigao: Yeah, that sorta' stinks, but that's my fault for not having updated my bank with my new address yet. I lived with a friend until my new place was ready to move into, and luckily she lives about 10 min. away. So I just shipped them there. Not too big of a deal.

While I love mystery and the occasional gamble, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume all of the DVDs in the pool are crap.
Honestly, this isn't a raffle, you aren't trying to win a prize, your just saying "Here is $4, give me the DVDs you couldn't sell because no one wants to order them"

reading some of the comments, im a bit confused now.

DVD box set to me means, a season of a TV show or multiple movies.
most of the comments signify ONE movie... IE the dude up there who said a dvd with 100 cartoons or the son of mask.
neither of which are "dvd box sets", but a single movie DVD.
if in fact its not like.... oh you got season 3 of the west wing or season 2 of andy griffith.... isnt that than misleading and false advertising?
just out of curiosity, anyone thats bought the deal previous to today, is there anyway to check back to the deal you bought to see if it said "Dvd box set" or "random mystery DVD"?
also, heres the other "odd" thing off that site..
you read the description...it says

but shipping isnt FREE its $3.99
guess it seems like the people running the site arent relaying things to the people updating the site.
but hey, for 4 bucks, i spend 15 bucks one a day a week on sushi for lunch. maybe ill opt for a bologna sandwich on thursday and do 3 just cause, well, surprises are fun.

Never heard of this site before, googled them and found a page called resellerratings.com. Scathing reviews about this company, including multiple comments of fake tracking numbers for items that were never shipped? No deal.
i have ordered from them in the past, got one of the mystery box sets and ended up with a season of the tv series "the black stallion" which is not bad for me cause i loved that show. I have ordered other things and have had absolutely no problems in the past. In for 1.
Random crap is truly random. Remember, they claim from a "wide list of genres". Meaning the odds of getting something truly awful, not even worth the materials they used, are very high. These are DVDs people wouldn't buy if they knew what it was.
I seen an Ernest collection that was received in the last random DVD set 1 Sale A Day up for trade over at woottrader.com.
I absolutely love 1saleaday. I've not ordered a lot from them, maybe 5 or 6 items, but I have always recieved everything they've sent me.
They also sell things, usually jewelry, that really is worth a LOT more than what they ask.
I had an Amethyst ring appraised locally and the $15 I paid for the ring was a steal when they appraised it at $145.
I'm in for one DVD set...why not? $4 shouldn't break too many people.

I participated in one of their previous random dvd giveaways. It was supposed to be either a boxed set(don't remember the exact wording, but that was the impression it gave) or up to 3 regular dvds. I figured what the hell, and I bought 10 (free with $5 shipping) thinking I would get at least one good dvd. I ended up with:

Some of them decent movies, but nothing like what they advertised. If they consider most of these boxed sets you're in for a huge waste of time. YMMV but I'm gonna pass on this "deal".
I have a girlfriend who loves terrible movies. (that is movies with terrible acting and sometimes a terrible plot) So I figure that even if I do get a lousy movie that it may just turn into a blessing. Haha
I vowed I'd never do any mystery box of anything anymore, but since this deal was put up by Deals.Woot, it has a bit more validity to me. Like the lottery, you are paying for the excitement of "what if?" rather than expecting to win. From now till I get it, I can be excited. And it isn't that much to risk.
I encourage all who did this to post back here what you got.
Oh it's $4, and I'm sure I can give it to someone if it's something that I don't even want to waste my time watching. And, one fine day, I come home from work and get to OPEN UP A BOX! That's what living is all about. Boxes.

The only problem I've had with these folks is that they don't have an option to send things as gifts.
I'm tempted to buy a couple. I know of some soldiers overseas who are desperate for entertainment, no matter how lousy the movie/TV show. I figure if there isn't anything I want, I'll send it to them. If there just happens to be anything I want, I'll watch and then send it over to them.

Bought it last time it was a mystery package; received the Essential Ernest collection - 2 DVDs with 2 movies and four other compilations. Which I had bought from them before for a dollar. Now two sets of grandkids are blessed.
I deal with them occasionally; never a problem.
Hmmm...janky site? After I hit submit order for 1 set, page errored out. I guess along with the surprise of the mystery Dvds, I get the added bonus of, "will I actually get a package". Growl.
@huigao: You can, however, use paypal to use your bank account info, and set its default shipping address to where you want it shipped. That's how I'm doing it, and if it doesnt go through, too bad for them.

@julielewdness: I ordered the Crocs sandals that got listed (and died) today. The first go for the site had my order error out on the last page. I don't think it's that the site is "janky" just simply a connection problem that can occur when you are trying to get data from one site to another over a good distance.
I fritter away my money on bollocks all the time. I'm paying for the entertainment value of "omg look what I got!" If it's crap then bring on the regifter train. TOOT TOOOT.

I ordered a pirates of the carribean pocket watch from this site before, and it only cost me 2 dollars. I was worried about all of the negative comments, but the product came on time and it still works, so i can at least say they deliver their products!

think about it THIS way.... for 50 bucks, he got 49 full length movies, and 750 cartoons.
essential ernest sells for 11 bucks new at amazon. and honestly, all 6 ernest movies for 4 bucks (or even 10?) he has his moments, even if hes annoying after a while. but.... 49 movies and 750 cartoons?
i bought 4 DVD packs off amazon a few years ago, 50 movies in each for 15 bucks. horror/sci fi type stuff. there was some GEMS i wouldve never seen otherwise, as well as some classics. i mention that cause of the 20 combat movie pack. my dad for one would love that honestly.
ill give it a try and hope for the best.
