awesome little toy! Upvoted this deal even though I can't stand the seller.

I need one to decide if I need one......uh-oh.

@kamikazeken: Why the Thinkgeek hate? Just curious...I've only had good experiences.

vote-for6vote-against

@okham: ordered a bloody bathroom rug for our halloween party 10 days before halloween. They didn't even ship it until 5 days later, and when the package arrived, the day AFTER Halloween, all that was in box was an umbrella.

Contacted them about it, they said they'd send the right item out asap, but again, they didn't even use expedited shipping to make up for their mistake.
So 11 days after halloween, I finally had the correct item. Not even a partial refund, like maybe the shipping charge, or a coupon code for next time.

I mean, what kind of mental midget confuses an umbrella with a bathroom rug? It wasn't even a nice umbrella, just a crappy dollar store one.

@kamikazeken: Wow! I've had some great experiences with Think Geek, including dealing with their customer service monkeys. Wonder what went wrong with your order.

vote-for17vote-against

For $30 it should include a real cat.

You'd have to restock every time it came up dead, but my neighborhood is full of them.

vote-for12vote-against

My biggest beef with ThinkGeek is their high prices. This is a perfect example. $30 + shipping for this item is WAY to much...

vote-for30vote-against

@okham: I want 90% of ThinkGeek's products no doubt.. but I don't buy anything from them at all due to how outrageous everything is priced. Even when they have "sales", the shipping prices are terrible. For a company as large as ThinkGeek, you think they could offer free shipping or do like Overstock/Woot does and make all shipping 1 flat price.

When they have good prices, I will start buying from them.

vote-for1vote-against

@devexityspace: I see your point, but just don't think their shipping costs are that high. They are usually offset by a coupon or freebie, which is always involved in my purchases.

I'm probably just skewed by the shipping costs I see at some other companies.

vote-for5vote-against

As a physicist, I find this a little cute, but $30 is pretty steep for a psuedorandom number generator and a motorized cat.

vote-for5vote-against

@snoopjedi: find me a better price on a motorizedcat! :-P

vote-for4vote-against

@devexityspace: The best "sale" thinkgeek ever had was free shipping on everything.

...and even then, I still only ordered Astronaut ice cream (that I could have gotten in 2 days from Amazon for like 2¢ more lol)

vote-for2vote-against

So... the cat's a zombie, right?

vote-for2vote-against

I love when someone posts a product that I have the opportunity of buying at full price! I am always excited to find a product at MSRP, and would be shocked.. nay.. appalled if anyone suggested that this site should only be used to post.. DEALS...

It's terrible that they would even offer 10$ off if someone were to buy 2.

vote-for2vote-against

I'd pay $30 + shipping in a heartbeat for this IF the cat were either alive or dead right when I opened the box. The fact that it switches back and forth totally kills the whole idea of the splitting of the wave function when the cat is observed.

Pushes up glasses

Perhaps a future release will be more accurate.

vote-for2vote-against

wow that YouTube video is pretty stupid. Hopefully no one is using that as a selling point

I love think geek.. My first order ever years and years ago was a caffeine molecule mug. It arrived with the molecule image reversed. I emailed them and they sent me a replacement and let me keep the defective mug.

Then for Christmas this year I ordered 1 titanium spork (~$9) as well as some other items. Everything came in correct except instead of giving me a single spork they gave me the package they buy in bulk which is a white box of 12 titanium sporks. Contacted them asking how I can ship back the 11 I didn't order and they said just keep them! They made great stocking stuffers last year.

I've never had a problem with ThinkGeek.

vote-for3vote-against

@elitemrp: For $9, getting 11 of them is about the right price. Really, $9 for a single spork??

vote-for2vote-against

Regardless of your thoughts on Thinkgeek, this particular item is NOT on sale. The only deal here is actually a previously wooted deal ($10 off a $60 purchase).

vote-for3vote-against

A lot of times I use ThinkGeek to find things, but then I just look elsewhere to order them.

vote-for2vote-against

@tsfisch:
TITANIUM spork, thank you (this ain't KFC)
ThinkGeek is the go-to site for friends when Hallmark + Walmart just doesn't cut it in the gift category. Got the spork for my brother, I've got the "no, i will not fix your computer" tshirt.
You don't buy from ThinkGeek because you are looking for a great deal. You buy from ThinkGeek because of all the concentrated geeky-tech goodies bubbling and simmering in one place.

@bentsea: You've been around since ought-six so you know that part of what makes Deals.Woot so awesome is seeing (and posting) cool stuff that most people wouldn't see otherwise.

Example (That actually was a "deal" too though.. not a GREAT one, but a deal :))

vote-for2vote-against

@drchops: Thanks for your support :) And I upvoted and enjoyed your fire piston back when you posted...maybe this is some of that "You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" voting I'm hearing about...

vote-for2vote-against

@okham: haha... one of the benefits of being a part of "The Family" :)

(heh.. I forget about that thread, but somebody says something every once and awhile that reminds me of it)

vote-for1vote-against

@drchops: Totally missed that thread. Made for some entertaining reading, though. :)
