If I could woot this 30 times I would. Best (dumbest) product of growing up in the 80's ever. I think mine quit working after a short while though... probably something to do with the drier.

After reading the description it looks like more than just kids were getting a kick out of this thing...

Yes, The clothes dryer was the Hypercolor Shirts Arch Nemesis!

seeing this totally made my night! these actually came up at the office the other day, reminiscing about ridiculous items we remembered from childhood. i SO want one, not sure i can pull the trigger though.

@bellavampyre: yes.

vote-for5vote-against

amazingly this was the cheapest I could find this item, A UK site had em for $33, but No Extended sizes :(

vote-for2vote-against

@artdoug: i'm not surprised this is the cheapest you could find. it's hard to provide something super cheap when a majority of the world won't actually buy them. for the "young'uns", they won't be wowed. i assume, like me, those that remember these won't actually purchase for the price. and "old" people probably didn't think these were that great the first time around. (i know my mother thought these were ridiculous at the time.)

+1 for the old/young description, cuz it's true :)

i swear i would buy one if i had the money though. hey, if this price is around after pay day, i might still buy one.

vote-for4vote-against

omg I had completely forgotten that these shirts ever existed!!!

vote-for2vote-against

Holy crap! Yes it's expensive seeing that I remember buying these for like $7 as a kid....but holy crap! I forgot these were ever around too! Thanks for the memories :)

vote-for2vote-against

@13deals: Really? I remember wanting one and my mom said no cause they were like $30, and that was 20 years ago. I could have been uber cool if I had found them where you got them for $7!

vote-for3vote-against

@bellavampyre: Yup, bought them at the flea market! I was going to say "20 years ago??!?" But yup geez it has been that long! Oh man, now...I...feel...old.

Ok I'm over it! Feeling young and spry again! ;)

i remember i got one of the Hypercolor brand tshirts straight from the store for .. $30+? it was a lot but i HAD to have one. and the only size they had was huge on me. i think i was the only kid that had it at school too. AHHH the good ole years. sniffle

vote-for3vote-against

yeah they were expensive even back in the day! me and my brother had to share one. good thing was it was purple and changed to pink, so he didnt wear it too often lol

True story: a female friend of mine had one of these shirts. After coming in out of the 100+ degree summer heat (Texas), the shirt cooled/changed color quickly in two large areas up-front on her chest. She was at a busy shopping mall at the time. She never wore that shirt again.

I think my mom kept me from seeing the hypercolor shirt and light up shoe fads because I would want to only wear color changing things and we was po'. It blew my mind to learn about these shirts within the last year or so. Sooooo want one.

vote-for1vote-against

@craigverb: god i wish i knew about these (again) when i was into raves, a number of years after they were cool. would have been the coolest rave thing out there, way better than my awesome bracelets, etc lol

vote-for1vote-against

there are similar ones on ebay for $19.99 (minus the logo across the front of the shirt).

vote-for1vote-against

If there is no logo how will your whole algebra class know you have a real HyperColor shirt?

vote-for2vote-against

Back in the day I had two t-shirts...but also had a pair of shorts...
"break wind"....people would see it.
sexy classmate leans over to your desk...people would know....
Shorts were grey, turned pinkish color when heated up...wierd

In the 80's I had a hypercolor shirt with the Aztec calendar on it.

vote-for1vote-against

ok what about cross colors or skidz !!!!!!!!!

vote-for2vote-against

Am I the only one that grew up in the 80s and never heard of these things?

vote-for1vote-against

Ha, this was the best way to get girls to touch you in the 80's.

vote-for1vote-against

I still have mine, AND it still works! Awesome for 80s parties

vote-for1vote-against

I had a few of these as a kid of the 80's and they clearly showed specific warm parts of your body you may not want to draw attention to. OR maybe you do - in that case - go for it!

vote-for1vote-against

I fear this woot. The one I had back in middle school never worked right. Maybe I was just too hot for it.

vote-for1vote-against

kohls has this kind of shirts in the juniors section...for about $8 on sale...i have 2...they are AMAZING even though my b/f thinks I'm a loser cuz i missed out on these in the 80's

vote-for1vote-against

@ashtonn4: i did a google search and saw a couple posts referencing the fact that Kohl's has these. when i searched Kohl's, i got "We're sorry, we were not able to find a match for your search." any key to searching for them?

also, tell your boyfriend he's dumb :p

vote-for1vote-against

Man, I remember being a kid when these were, um, popular. I had to touch every t-shirt in every store just to see if it was a hypercolor.

vote-for0vote-against

I understand that Hyperchromic is the main manufacturer of this stuff in the US. They sell some cool colors at www.hyperchromic.com .

vote-for0vote-against

@80stoday: I just got a purple to pink tee. The color is remarkable.

vote-for1vote-against

Nice I used to have one of those back in the 90's
