Isn't that the normal price for vistaprint?

vote-for3vote-against

Why dies vista print get so many down votes?

vote-for1vote-against

And yet it's not even working, terrible.

@norimw: The only thing I can figure out is all the outcast kids on woot get together each night and decide who gets to be the the "Simon" deal...a woot version if you will of "Lord of the Flies."

So all the outcast kids, led by the mysterious poster Jack Merridew all pick up a bunch of sharp sticks and start poking at the Simon deal until it is dead...tonight it appears VistaPrint is the victim.

Or it could be VisaPrint sux

I've been a loyal VistaPrint customer since they first started advertising. Great price on their business cards, fair price on the rest of their products, but they make it so incredibly easy to do business. Never had a single problem with a misprinted product, never had a problem with customer service or billing.

I bought some stuff from Vistaprint, including a photomug, and a photo mouse pad. The pad is totally useless, as the photo starts to fall apart almost instantly. The mug is small, and the photo quality only fair.

That said, I might be tempted to try the business cards, but as with all of their advertised specials they, like Dell, jack up the price for every little thing you want different. Sometimes these up-prices are fair, sometimes ridiculous.

So, buy if you will, but buy carefully.

I also have used vista print for business cards and for checks. I see no problem with their business model. My observation is that the deals come on the first order. Subsequent orders may not qualify for discounts.

So much hate - Vistaprint has been great for my small office for the past four years. Letterhead and business cards, promotional postcards have all been fine. I don't care for all the add-on offers that you have to sit through when checking out, but otherwise, no complaints at all.

vote-for5vote-against

Vistaprint's fine by me, it's $10 for a bunch of business cards, probably more than I'll ever use. Try buying a pack of avery printer paper enough to make 250 cards, that's well over $10, plus the ink, plus the time you put into it. Sure they don't give you the fancy glossy options or anything, but this is a bare-bones decent deal if you want to make some cards to give away and aren't looking to "wow" people, just give them your contact info. I use these for my photography and give them out to the bands I take pics for, I never had an issue.

Still, to each their own, if you feel you can get a better deal for this many cards at that level of customization, more power to you.

We got 250 business cards for our BBQ team last year and they were fine. Printed as expected (front and back) and decent quality. Local auto shop we use also gets their cards there (glossy and color both sides to the edges) and they are also good.

We also did cheap/discount tshirts and (printed) hats, and they were higher quality than I expected. Still cheap, but not crappy..

I dunno about their other products, but I would hesitate on things like mugs for the same reasons you don't get them from the kiosk at the mall..

The deal with Vistaprint is that they print what you provide. I've have great luck with them using high quality art, vector art when possible, and pdfs. If you provide crap artwork you will get crap cards. I'm betting all the downvotes are people who have never used vistaprint or people who provided bad art and then approved it to be printed.

I'll continue to buy from them.

vote-for14vote-against

@norimw: I'd say the downvotes come from people that know that this isn't a special deal. This is theire normal everyday business card offer.

I'm not saying it's a bad deal (and no I haven't downvoted this) but deals.woot should be for actual deals not for stuff that's constantly offered in side banners.

I've used this deal multiple times before (for fake/joke business cards) and have never had a problem.

@disconnect: I'm with @frinky ... BBQ Team? This is a sanctioned event? I'm tasting the love already.

I've used Vista Print a number of times for printing my business cards. The gripe I have with them is that every little this is extra. Yes you can get 250 cards for $10 but if you want to use your artwork as a background instead of their stock artwork, well that is an extra charge. Extra charges for shipping in what should be normal shipping days but is considered expedited by them, otherwise it takes twice as long to get the cards. Then the constant upsale of the web site trying to sell you other things right in the middle of doing your order. I think it is how they present their company that annoys people and gets the down voting.

vote-for2vote-against

I see no reason to down vote this deal. not much to vote it up either, as this deal is always available

vote-for2vote-against

They don't charge the add on fee for your own art on reorders. Placed an order yesterday that by selecting to add on the $3.99 address labels actually dropped my shipping cost so it's like they paid me $1 to take them. I've been happy with all my purchases from VistaPrint - however this isn't the greatest buy. I've picked up 500 cards for less than $10 twice in the past year.

vote-for1vote-against

@dijital101: I actually love Vistaprint. I just wanted to see what would happen when the total reached a net -100. Sorry VP.

vote-for1vote-against

Still using the 250 I got a while ago. pretty nice, I don't remember the deal but all I had to pay for to have my photo used instead of one of their's. Very happy with the resuly

vote-for6vote-against

I downvoted it for 2 reasons, 1st reason is that "a deal that's always a deal" is an everyday regular price not a deal. 2nd reason is that $10 for 250 business cards isn't even a good deal... My local printshop will do 250 for $7 anytime and a quick google for "business card price" came up with 3 online options including 500 cards for $9.95 that's twice as many cards for less money... Post VistaPrint when they have a sale not when they're running their regular price. If there's seriously this many people defending this deal I'll start posting stuff like this all the time though because I take flak for not posting deals anyway so might as well start posting terrible deals or regular prices if that's what people want to see.

vote-for1vote-against

@ikisat: I have no problem with Vistaprint at all; in fact, I've used them for years for multiple projects and my home business and they're great (which is why I continue to use them). But I agree that this is a "deal" which seems to appear almost every day on their website. Sign up for their deals to be sent to your e-mail box and you'll often (2-3x a month or so) see promos for 250 premium cards for free + shipping. Now that's a deal to post here, not their every-day pricing.

vote-for2vote-against

@romeojn: That's all I'm saying. Personally I've never used VistaPrint I didn't downvote them for anything at all related to them. Anytime I need printing I do it or I use our local shop because their prices aren't typically much different from good online prices and I prefer using local shops.

I don't check vistaprints site very much but can't recall a time when it hasn't been at least this cheap or cheaper. Someone else posted a Staples link of $5.99 for 250 cards my local printer is $7 for 250 cards other sites online are on par or even cheaper so this just seems like regular price. It's ironically even the sponsored ad on the side of the page currently...

@frinky: facebook.com/CnDisBBQ :)

Oh, and yah, there are a couple of extra fees before you are done. Once you pay for the outside art import you can reuse it on other products for free though, so thats something. (We're making minor changes to our logo this year, but I can reuse 2 of the 3 pieces I imported already so I won't have to pay again.)

vote-for8vote-against

lol @ the people who think there's a "bandwagon" for downvoting.

Do you think consumers go write negative reviews for products on Amazon too because other people did too?

These get downvoted because they are either:
1) Not a good deal.
2) The company provides poor service.
3) Both of the above.

vote-for1vote-against

There is a downvote bandwagon for sure. I seen it.

vote-for1vote-against

I've used visaprint once in the past, many years ago, and was happy with them.

But... I think it's funny that there are a number of "I have no issues with Vistaprint and here's why" comments, and all of them have at least one downvote. Some people hate the company so bad that they will actually downvote someone else's positive review of it. Now that's closed minded. Carry on, and downvote this if you must.
