Dish is offering a free (after rebate - you get a $99 prepaid cash card in the mail) Sling Adapter to new AND existing customers! If you own a VIP 722 or 722k HD DuoDVR, this plugs into the USB port and allows you to stream live TV and your DVR recordings anywhere via the web or your smartphone. There are no monthly fees for using the Sling Adapter.

* Note - Requires programming package of Top 200 / Dish America Silver or higher! *

1. You pay $99 up-front
2. Install and connect your Sling Adapter
3. Login or create an Online ID at dish.com/getslingadapterreward
4. Submit online for your $99 prepaid card

I've seen suggestions that if you're on a non-qualifying package, you can upgrade for a few months and then downgrade your service after you've received the rebate.

The promotion lasts thru Jan 2012, or until supplies last.

The rebate link isn't dead, it just isn't activated yet.

You have to wait 45 days after receiving the Sling Adapter to file for the rebate. The promo just began so they still haven't enabled the rebate site.

Changes effective June 15th:

F.Y.I - The promotion for the SLING ADAPTER has changed to:

-Account Must Be Active
-New & Exisiting Customers
-Sumbit Rebate Within 75 Days
-Recieve Marketing E-Mails
-Have A VIP722 or VIP722K

What Changed? Well no longer are you required to have:

-Minimum Programming
-You Can Submit For The Rebate Next Day
