I have one of these, and they do work. They're not hard to set, there's enough room inside for the critter, and it doesn't appear like there's any reasonable way for an animal to hurt itself. I've used one to catch two groundhogs and either several opossums, or one really stupid one over and over again. The groundhog (and apparently, opossum) bait of choice appears to be cantaloupe.

If you need to catch a groundhog, just call Bill Murray. Being that he recent movies are loosing their "." i'm sure he won't mind the extra work. also, irony, i love it.

This is a great trap but this other one in the link offers a better deal for about the same quality trap. I have both and they are about the same. in size and quality.
