I just checked on Steam and it's being sold for $25, so this is actually a pretty good deal right now. There are several other games available on Amazon w/ similar pricing.

What are the 2013 Editor's Choice games? Following the link on the amazon page doesn't go anywhere for me.

@frenat: Yep, I noticed that yesterday, as well. Not sure what's up, but perhaps we should send Amazon a helpful e-mail. Actually talking to someone on chat now.

The $5 credit is not for another PC game, but rather for the Amazon (android) App Store.

@frenat: Looks like the page needs to be updated. They didn't know about the problem, so I'm glad I talked to them. They made a report and told me they'd send me an alert when the page is updated. I'll try to remember to update this page, once I get the alert.

@narquespamley: That's a 2nd deal. There are two credits available.

@polidiotic:
A CNET article said the list hasn't been released yet. I'd like to know if any of the games are worth it (that I don't have already) before trying to get the credit.

@frenat: Last year (2012), when I saw that, I thought: "Big deal, $5 off some full price games after the big sale is over." but, the "Editor's Choice" games were many of the same games that were on sale during the Christmas/holiday sale at the same discount.

For example, the "Desert to Sea Bundle" (Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Spec Ops: The Line) that was on sale for $10 (same price as this year's sale BTW) was also on the Editor's Choice list for $10 so when I bought it, I paid a net $5 ($4.99) for it after applying the coupon.

Of course we have no way of knowing what will happen this year but that's what happened in January of 2013.

@whitewind: Oddly, if you do an Amazon search for "Desert to Sea Bundle", it doesn't pull up the bundle.

Here's a link (pulled from my order from Jan 2013) to the bundle I mentioned.

Just a note that the same credit can be had for the game "Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons", which has good reviews and is only 4.49 now. I got it for my sons to try out, so don't know if it is good or not.

Note, you don't get the credit until the 3rd when all these sales will be over, so $5 won't go as far.

Excellent! I often forget that during Steam's Holiday Sale, Amazon (and other big retailers) also have a lot of video game deals as well.

Just a note on Tomb Raider - I may be the only gamer not impressed by this game. The game doesn't do any one thing particularly well. Uncharted 3 has a better story, better voice acting, better controls, better graphics (on a PS3 of course), etc. Far Cry 3 was more fun and less linear, and any number of games that were released this year were better overall.

Just about the only thing I love about this game are the many hilarious ways to die. Screw up one of the (hundreds of) quick time events, and you may get impaled by a tree. In fact, impalement is a theme to this game. Try to see how many things you can get to stab Laura to death!

I guess this game may be as close to Uncharted 3 as you're going to get on a PC. Yes, I know Uncharted borrowed heavily from the Tomb Raider franchise, but Tomb Raider games were never that great, and Uncharted games have all been stellar.

Just an update. Received my Amazon credit e-mail today. This is the URL for the editor's choice games: http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/?docId=1000728511

More info can be read there.

@polidiotic: Looking at the editors' choices, I get the feeling that there's something going on behind the scenes between Amazon and EA. Maybe about half the "Editors" were from EA's marketing staff perhaps?

I bought both Crysis 3 and Dead Space 3 for $5 each after coupon. Both require Origin DRM.

I own about 8 Origin games but haven't actually played any of them yet. I have no experience with Origin beyond installing the client. Besides the limited selection (I saw an Origin gift card for sale boasting "50+ games"), someone please explain to me why Origin is so hated among gamers.
