Don't any of you feel sorry for exploiting the fine folks over at Wal-Mart?

I couldn't keep a straight face typing that.

vote-for28vote-against

$1.97 shipping, FYI.
Not sure why the picture isn't available.

vote-for22vote-against

I'm guessing they are going to cancel orders, but worth a shot.

Also, doesn't appear to be the extended editions.

vote-for17vote-against

vote-for9vote-against

In for one... figure they'll either cancel and refund me, or I'll get a hell of a deal. Either way, no risk to me =)

vote-for7vote-against

wish it was the extended, but for $12 I'll settle. Still want the extended.

vote-for7vote-against

Nope, checked the confirmation email from wal-mart sent after purchase, nothing about another charge later and>>>>>>
"• You'll receive another email, with tracking information, when your order ships."

I paid with paypal so they can't charge me anything if I do not approve it.

vote-for7vote-against

Here's the theatrical release blu-ray trilogy without the "Hobbit money" (or The Hobbit movie ticket) http://www.walmart.com/ip/21805544?findingMethod=rr

It's at $22 so maybe it is believable that this one is this cheap? I have no idea...

vote-for6vote-against

I usually buy discounted movie passes at $6.50 each and I was already planning on going to see The Hobbit, so the way I see it, I just purchased the LOTR trilogy on Blu-Ray for about $5 shipped! Thanks, OP! BTW, this isn't the first time I've benefited from a Walmart.com quirk (if that's what this is).

The extended version of this is listed on their site for over $100.

vote-for6vote-against

Looks like it is actually the trilogy. Cool!

vote-for6vote-against

I'm in for 1. We'll see now if I get a cancellation email tomorrow.

vote-for6vote-against

@dissonance: @dissonance: Looks like they fixed that, but just out of curiosity, why did you have the cast of Return to Sleepaway Camp memorized?

vote-for5vote-against

Worth a shot. The movie money itself makes it worth the price.

vote-for5vote-against

Hope this wasn't supposed to be the "reserve your copy" price. that's not what they advertised.

vote-for5vote-against

@madaradio: the one you linked is the extended edition, so not the exact same.

vote-for4vote-against

@jwildman16: I think it's supposed to be "choose 1" but there is nothing to choose.

j5 j5
vote-for4vote-against

@j5: As though anyone would care about shipping at this price . . .

vote-for4vote-against

For this price, it's worth it simply for the movie pass. In for 1.

vote-for4vote-against

Worth a shot, now I can retire the gf's vhs tape of #1.....

vote-for4vote-against

ordered 1, F Walmart. I think they missed a 9 in front of the other one.

info looks correct, this what i have:
Starring:
Elijah Wood,

John Rhys-Davies,
Liv Tyler

Blu-ray Release Date: 12/04/2012

vote-for4vote-against

I gift-wrapped for $3.88. It's the least I could do for the poor sod who made this database entry.

vote-for4vote-against

Hope this works. I always wanted the trilogy but I didn't want to pay that much to own it on blu ray.

vote-for4vote-against

Ditto Blackwood & others before me. Just ordered & deal went thru (about 12:50am CST). With shipping & tax it came to about $12.50. I wouldn't have thought of using PayPal & a massive later charge would have killed the deal for me, so thanks again for mentioning that they can't just add on a charge later if you bill that way.

vote-for3vote-against

@j5: The picture isn't available because this is preorder. They don't have pictures to post of it.

vote-for3vote-against

@hengehog: That's the extended version, this is the theatrical one. Still, seems kind of odd that the price difference is $90! lol

vote-for3vote-against

I'm in, if it goes through, I have a kick butt stocking stuffer for the other half.

vote-for3vote-against

Man, just when I was complaining about all the movie "deals" you post one that really is a deal.

vote-for3vote-against

In for one, we'll see if it sticks!

vote-for3vote-against

I also used my Discover card to get 5% back. Awesome deal (if it sticks)!

vote-for3vote-against

>>>>In for one......triliogy!!!!!!!!!!! Harg harg harg. Now that's what I call a roll-back. I'm with @dissonance. Didn't see what the other guy was talking about.

vote-for3vote-against

Worked fine for me. No mention of additional charges, but decided to go Paypal just for that extra buffer. Thanks for the idea! :-) After tax and shipping looks like a trip to see the Hobbit and a $6 Blu-ray update. Hope it works...

vote-for3vote-against

I think the reason it is so cheap is because no one will buy this edition now the extended cut is coming out. They are trying to get rid of non-moving inventory.

vote-for3vote-against

Just ordered it w/PayPal, thank for the idea (whoever you were who first mentioned it)! I live on disability and thus a later charge of $90+ would screw me over big time, especially at the gift-giving season! So, double-thanks for that tidbit of advice. Yeah, this will make a great gift for my brother who has the blu-ray and the 60" flat screen!

vote-for3vote-against

Well.... Here's the deal, if they "Charge" you for the item then I would say, yes Wal Mart probably won't cancel the deal. However, I show the charge for 12.66 as "Pending" until they actually charge my account, and that usually takes 1 full business day

vote-for3vote-against

@luke727: the equivalent DVD set (All three theatrical cuts) was $12.99 when I was at a physical Wal-Mart 2 days ago so the pricing is not that outrageous.

vote-for3vote-against

Mine appears to still be a go. No emails from WM since my order confirmation.

vote-for2vote-against

thanks to the mods for adding a picture. :)
this is like a wallyBoC, not sure what I'll get, but interesting anyway.

j5 j5
vote-for2vote-against

awesome, in for one! Hope it doesn't get cancelled.

vote-for2vote-against

Pre-ordered....and now the wait.

vote-for2vote-against

The longer this sits, the more I think it is real. I would think after thousands of orders being placed they would have realized by now if it was a screw up.

vote-for2vote-against

@ej30013: weird.. I'm seeing Release Date: 11/06/2012.

vote-for2vote-against

for 12 dollars with tax it's worth the risk! Heck if it goes through I can always give it away as a really nice X-Mas gift!
