I bought this lens years ago (for a lot more than this). Great lens, especially for sports/action/nature. 300mm is effectively 480mm on a crop sensor like the T2i/T3i/T4i - powerful zoom! One day sale. I've personally bought from 1saleaday (via a community woot deal) - they ship slow, but they're legit.

This lens is arguably Canon's worst lens ever. The version III of this lens is even worse. I have version II and it's not much better.
Save yourself the aggravation.

I agree.
Get the Canon 55-250mm IS instead - it has better optics and optical image stabilization.
