A few months ago, we featured an Elmer T. Lee 15yr Bourbon Whiskey. Now, this was the first and last time an age statement was ever put on an ETL release. We sold out the cases in about 45 minutes. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but shortly after I got a call from Kris Comstock, Brand Manager of Buffalo Trace Distillery, with an odd concept.
Kris and Elmer T Lee picked 2 barrels. The concept was to take the barrels, both distilled on November 6, 2001 and aged in Warehouse D, Rick 50 on the 6th Floor, and showcase two noticeably different taste profiles. Bourbon enthusiasts are ALWAYS asking for information on their bourbon. They do this so they can compare taste profiles from batch to batch. Unfortunately, there aren't too many bourbons on the market that offer this much information.
So, we put together two combo packs. This one is the Elmer T. Lee Limited Edition Bourbon Whiskey Family 3-Pack. This is on sale for $84.99/pack.
