don't need on in my house but what a clever gizmo

Also don't need one as our tv is mounted on the entertainment center and I can barely slide it let alone my kids topple it. But this does seem like a really nice and cheap solution for those with toddlers and tv's on tables/stands.

Also keeps your drunk uncle from slamming the TV down when his team loses the game!

Could be useful in earthquake or violent weather prone areas.

Good to have if you have small children around. or slanted floors...

If you're already putting a hole in your wall, you might as well use a wall-mount and move the TV up a few inches - give yourself a little more free space on the top of the entertainment center. That's what I'll be doing once I move out of apartment-land. Also because I have a huge center speaker and it needs somewhere to sit (right now it's behind the TV bouncing sound off the wall).

@omnichad: benefit from this is it doesn't involve the weight of the tv on the wall, or require a stud i'm sure, its just insurance that it doesn't get pulled. or if you cannot place your unit on a stud to hang it, and don't want the kiddies messing with it... then booyah this does the trick
