Awesome! I've been looking for some light reading. ;)

vote-for47vote-against

Perhaps we could send a few to congress... maybe they could read up on what their actual job entails!

vote-for19vote-against

I'm guessing it's a reproduction for that price. =P

vote-for5vote-against

@stevemayfield: Remember, the GOP in the House did this (for the first time in history), and the Democrats whined and complained.

vote-for7vote-against

I think they are selling the original to help solve the debt crisis

vote-for1vote-against

+ $3.88 cheapest shipping option for me.

vote-for1vote-against

@kmeltzer: Wait, so the GOP sent out a copy of the Constitution without the Amendments? Well there's your problem right there.

Seriously, though - given the item name, "1787 Constitution," I suspect that that this does not include any amendments, not even the Bill of Rights (which were added a few years later). Just an FYI.

vote-for10vote-against

I thought about buying a few of these for my local public school system but not sure if the Constitution and the Communist Manifesto can coexist.

vote-for0vote-against

Current U.S. Constitution:

1. Make money.
2. Make money.
3. make money.
4...............................

vote-for-9vote-against

Obama needs a copy he has no idea what it is !

vote-for3vote-against

@bugboy66: He has a far better understanding that practically on the hill, including you. He's teaches Constitutional Law. Instead of making executive orders for many things, he pushed Congress to pass those laws...the way our forefathers wanted it.

Learn something before you start spouting off.

vote-for9vote-against

Don't buy it guys, it's outdated.

vote-for4vote-against

Just grabbed the last two, they are now out of stock. Gotta be unconstitutional.

vote-for13vote-against

We will honor the price through pre-orders.. delivery within 2 weeks. All previous orders shipped today .. you'll get them very quickly! Thanks everyone.

vote-for7vote-against

@shelburnecountrystore: Nice job on honoring the price. Adam Smith would be proud.

vote-for2vote-against

I always new our government was up for sale, just thought it might go to the highest bidder.

vote-for9vote-against

@tucnguyen: @tucnguyen: Maybe you should look into the number of executive orders that he's signed before you start spouting off. He's signed a hell of a lot. He's no better than Bush. Being a constitutional lawyer does not make one a constitutionalist; it just means you know how to get around it better.

vote-for12vote-against

Overpriced. The Congress, President and Supreme Court all value the Constitution much less than $1.95.

vote-for2vote-against

@greciandelight: I didn't say he didn't sign any. There are times when an exec order is appropriate than not. And not all exec orders are the same. For example, he pushed Congress to end Don't Ask Don't Tell when he could have signed an Exec Order.

So doing a tally count and treating all exec orders the same is superficial and grossly inaccurate.

vote-for13vote-against

I find it ironic to see the RIP icon next to this deal now. Almost foreshadowing.

vote-for-1vote-against

@bugboy66: Wow, that's original. And since there is no provision in there requiring honesty, or preventing the theft of a presidential election, you can claim that Bush was within (most of) the constitutional terms!

vote-for0vote-against

@kmeltzer: Yes, the GOP read the Constitution on the floor of Congress...and you know why people complained? Well, aside from the fact that Congress should be doing their jobs instead of grandstanding, the GOP left parts of it out that they didn't like, and they didn't include the Bill of Rights. In other words, the GOP did what they always do: they half-assed things, then blamed their opponents when things didn't work out the way they hoped.

vote-for1vote-against

@teufelaffe: They haven't done their job in over 11 years. And you whine about them reading the freakin' Constitution. Pathetic. How's that 2011 budget coming along? Oh, guess they haven't gotten it done in YEARS because of the Constitution being read. Talk about half-assed!

vote-for-2vote-against

I can see the deal tomorrow... same item, just called "Democrat Toilet Paper". Would sell like hotcakes!

vote-for8vote-against

I would vote, into public office, every person who posted in this thread. You are all so smart. I get a real sense of your knowledge in these matters. I'm sure any of you could resolve our nation's problems with ease. Please, take a moment to pat yourselves on the back.

vote-for8vote-against

@shelburnecountrystore: In reference to your Declaration of Independence...

Is there an... encryption on the back?
...
Of what?
A... cartograph.
A map.
...
A map of what?
The location of...
...of hidden items
of historic and intrinsic value.

vote-for1vote-against

I would of thought this would be worth a lot more money.

vote-for0vote-against

@kmeltzer: Believe it or not, they are doing their jobs...all the fighting and politics. The adversarial system was set up by our forefathers with the hope that the best ideas would arise from the debates.

vote-for1vote-against

Not worth the paper it is printed on. Both parties have done a pretty good job of ignoring the Tenth Amendment.

vote-for4vote-against

@tucnguyen: But our forefathers could compromise. That is how we ended up with our current legislative branch.

vote-for1vote-against

@lparsons42: I sure would not claim that ! Obama is Bush 2.0 more wars more debt just another puppet run by the elites .

vote-for0vote-against

deal is dead:
"Expected back in stock around 15th Aug 2011"

vote-for0vote-against

@kmeltzer: Ah yes, because saying that they should be doing their jobs instead of grandstanding is exactly the same thing as saying the reading of the Constitution is why they've been slacking off for years. So, what, you're saying we shouldn't complain when Congress does stupid things because they've been doing stupid things for a long time? That's one of the dumber things I've heard in a while.

vote-for1vote-against

@maximumtodd: Not really. Later senators were just as bad if not worse. There are accounts of members of congress pulling guns on each other in the House during debate.

That's one of the things about today and the media. We know a lot more of what's going on they they ever did so we assume they didn't engage in all the politicking we do now.

vote-for3vote-against

Just out of curiousity, do any of you do anything to help or protect our constitution other than bitch about it? Just wondering...

vote-for1vote-against

@zippy the pinhead: We will honor the price through pre-orders.. delivery within 2 weeks.

vote-for3vote-against

@joekaelin: Do you mean serve in the military? Are you implying that only those who served can have a voice? If so, you're in desperate need of a civics lesson.

And I did.

vote-for1vote-against

crap shipping for 8 of these is 12.00! This is paper people! Why so pricey!?!?!?!?

vote-for3vote-against

@joekaelin: If you mean stay an informed voter? Yes. If you mean stage revolutions when the government steps on the constitution on which it was founded? Sorry, but no, not yet. That is the beauty and folly of a representative democracy. Our only real say in how our government does or doesn't run our lives lays with our choice in who speaks for us. That is, however, why the 2nd amendment was so important. A tyranny should always fear its population. Reference Thomas Jefferson and blood of patriots and tyrants.

vote-for1vote-against

@cutebutnerdy: There is a limit to weight on 1st Class Shipping of 13 ounces. Call us and we'll see what other options we can use. 1-800-660-3657.

vote-for2vote-against

Constitution has been dead since the Federal-Aid highway act of 1956, it was the first time the constitution was blatantly and publicly disregarded against the will of the majority of the populous. Obviously since then it's had many more hits such as 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 10th, 11th, and 14th amendments not even existing in modern law.

The military is also a welfare system that needs it's budget cut by about 80% so they really have no reason to think they have a voice. Maybe if they did their jobs and defended the country I would think differently but we haven't fought a defensive war since the revolutionary war (unless you count the civil war which would be ironic.).

This is a pretty good deal though, cheapest I've seen these for have been at conventions and rallies for $4.95 so this definitely beats that price.

"Land Of The Free..."*

*Some Restrictions May Apply...

We owe, we owe; it'll be their land now you know. Oh wait, let's just borrow some more from them and the federal reserve to prevent foreclosure. HA, they got us right where our legislators and the executive branch wants us... indebted servitude for generation upon generation. Perhaps it should be reprinted in chinese?
