@joshaw: Under the ideology of "If one is good, ten is better," it may be easy to be disappointed with the canceling of the show. But I feel the series is complete. A wonderful story was told with a beautiful arc. There are many stories surrounding that of Firefly, but the story really was about that particular iteration of the crew and was told in full.

That being said, I was still willing to help Nathan buy Firefly.

I already own this... but it is one of the best written, super entertaining shows I've ever seen. Was soooo sad when it was over! Movie is great too!!! Not kids friendly though, a little gross.

@dslocum: How far did you get either time? This is my all time favorite show but I know folks who couldn't get through the first episode; it just wasn't built for them. I watch the series at least once a year.

I say if you're not sure, then maybe Netflix streaming is the way to go(you can hit the two week trial offer and not be out any money). Firefly and the movie Serenity are both available for streaming.
