Officially my new favorite movie on blu-ray. Sounds and looks way better than the original, and that is saying something.

Been waiting for a while to get this for under $10. Thanks OP!

"You're a monster Zorg"

Slicks hair

Also hose cases are empty. The opposite of full.

@tygerdave: So made out of Gary Oldman then eh?

Fabulous movie, but I think this is so cheap due to it being a poor quality transfer (2007) versus the Essentials (2010) remastered and much better reviewed.

Anyone know if this is the case for real?

@dwass: Alright, alright, she knows it’s a multipass!

@orangebug: This is not the case. The version with the poor transfer was released Jun 20, 2006. This version is nearly impossible to find, as Sony implemented an exchange program to right the wrong they had committed (http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=252). The remastered version was released Jul 17, 2007. The "Essentials" version which was released Nov 16, 2010 is just a repack of the remastered release.

If you ever see a copy in stores and feel the need to quickly discern between the two, the remastered version uses the AVC codec (instead of MPEG-2) and has Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio (instead of LPCM 5.1). Additionally, the good release comes on a 50GB Blu-ray disc instead of a 25GB Blu-ray disc.

tl;dr It's safe to buy this version.

!Spoiler Alert! I saw this opening night YEARS ago. And towards the end when the countdown is running, it gets down to 1 and the film breaks.
The theater is packed and we're all assuming it's part of the movie until 30 seconds later the lights come up and an usher says we can go to the counter and get a refund. I got my money and went back to finish the movie.

Great movie
